Position Summary
Feldkamp Mechanical is seeking an experienced Pipefitter / Welder to join our commercial mechanical field team. This position is responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems supporting commercial HVAC, hydronic heating and cooling, steam, and process applications.
Our projects include hospitals, schools, office buildings, industrial facilities, and other commercial environments. The ideal candidate has strong pipefitting and welding skills, takes pride in producing clean, code-compliant work, and is committed to safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities

- Fabricate, install, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial piping systems.

- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schematics, and isometric drawings.

- Measure, cut, thread, groove, fit, and assemble piping and related components.

- Weld carbon steel and stainless steel using SMAW, GTAW, and/or GMAW processes.

- Install and set mechanical equipment, including boilers, chillers, pumps, air handlers, and associated piping.

- Perform pressure testing and inspect completed systems for proper operation, quality, and code compliance.

- Coordinate work with project supervisors and other trades to support project schedules.

- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and other job-site equipment.

- Follow company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and applicable mechanical codes.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications

- 3+ years of commercial or industrial pipefitting experience preferred.

- Demonstrated welding experience with carbon steel and/or stainless steel.

- Ability to successfully pass a 6G weld certification test.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and isometric drawings.

- Proficiency with pipefitting tools, hand tools, and power tools.

- Ability to work at heights, operate lifts, and perform work in varying job-site conditions.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

- Must provide appropriate personal hand tools for the trade.

Preferred Qualifications

- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

- Completion of a UA or other recognized pipefitting/welding apprenticeship program.

- Previous experience on large-scale commercial or industrial mechanical projects.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment associated with the trade.

- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in physically demanding environments for extended periods.

- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts as required.
