What you will be doing:

As the Senior Manager, Wealth Strategy & Research, you will play an important role in advancing Tangerine’s mission to redefine the wealth management experience for Canadians. You will contribute to the development and execution of key strategic initiatives, build and enhance market intelligence capabilities, and support leadership through clear and insightful reporting. This role is well suited to a strategic thinker who enjoys breaking down complex problems, staying ahead of industry trends, and translating analysis into practical, evidence based recommendations for executives..

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be:

- Strategy & Insights

Lead strategic assessments and analyses that support the development and execution of Tangerine Wealth's business strategy and growth agenda.

- Independently manage high-priority strategic initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, generating insights and translating them into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

- Develop business cases, financial models, customer segmentation analyses, and scenario planning exercises to evaluate strategic opportunities.

- Support annual strategic planning, budgeting, and multi-year roadmap development activities.

- Market Intelligence

Lead ongoing monitoring of wealth management, banking, fintech, and digital investing landscape, identifying developments or industry innovations that may impact Tangerine's competitive position.

- Design and maintain competitor benchmarking frameworks covering products, pricing, service models, client experience, technology capabilities, and distribution strategies.

- Partner with market research, analytics, and client insights teams to evaluate customer needs, market trends, and growth opportunities.

- Produce executive-ready market intelligence reports, presentations, and strategic briefs for leadership teams and governance forums.

- Governance & Management Reporting

Lead development and maintenance of KPI frameworks, dashboards, and scorecards to track business performance and progress against strategic objectives

- Prepare concise, well‑structured updates for senior leadership that summarize progress, highlight risks, and provide data‑driven insights to guide next steps

- Stakeholder Leadership & Team Development

Act as a strategic partner to leaders across Wealth, Marketing, Finance, Product, Technology, Compliance, Risk, and other business functions.

- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate collaboration and alignment on strategic initiatives.

- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, helping elevate analytical rigor and strategic thinking across the team.

- Support the Director in fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and insight-driven team culture.

- Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree is considered an asset.

- 4+ years post-MBA or 6+ years post-undergraduate experience in management consulting with top-tier consulting firms or corporate strategy; Experience within the wealth management industry is preferred

- Strong understanding of the Canadian wealth management industry, including investment products, advisory models, digital wealth platforms, and competitive dynamics

- Demonstrated experience leading complex strategic initiatives and influencing decision-making among senior stakeholders.

- Advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities, including financial modeling, market assessment, and business case development.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to structure ambiguous business challenges and develop actionable recommendations.

- Proven ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise executive-level presentations and strategic communications.

- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with experience working across multiple functions and leadership levels.Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools is an asset.
