About this role
Responsible for the cutting of sheet metal to size for jobs per Customer’s engineering drawings and specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform visual inspection of part and traveler
- Verify specific material callouts on traveler
- Verify material certificates to the Customers’ parts list
- Verify accuracy of job/workmanship when performing job
- Maintain specifications by observing operations and the wear and tear on shear machine
- Perform material handling safety procedures
- Verify accuracy of job/workmanship when performing job
- Maintain specifications by observing operations
- Adhere to all quality assurance procedures and processes
- Meet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality
- Miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE :
- Minimum one year experience with a saw and/or shear in an aerospace setting
- Ability to read blueprints and decipher drawings
REQUIREMENTS :
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs.
- Familiar with safety standards and PPE utilized in a manufacturing setting
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to work overtime when needed
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Proficient in blue print reading
- Knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring tools, such as calipers and scales
- Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Detail oriented
