Driver

Job Function:   Deliver materials and equipment from the metal shop and warehouse to construction sites.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Ensure all safety requirements are met while operating the delivery vehicles such as wearing a seatbelt, properly securing materials, and obeying all traffic laws.

- Wear proper PPE when delivery to construction sites to include safety to shoes, a hard hat, safety vest, eye protection, and gloves.

- Properly secure and haul heavy equipment such as conex boxes, forklifts, scissor lifts, etc.

- Drive flatbed pickup trucks, stake-side trucks, tilt bed trucks, and pull gooseneck and bumper pull trailers

- Load and unload materials with the use of a forklift, pallet jack, and when required by hand

- Communicate with personnel on the construction sites prior to delivering

- Work in the metal shop when there aren’t deliveries to be made

- Ensure preventative maintenance is scheduled and completed such as brake jobs, oil changes, tire pressure, and other service when alerted by maintenance lights in the trucks.

Physical Demands:

- Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds.
- Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.

Other Requirements:

- Valid Texas Driver’s License

- Pre-Employment Drug Screening

- Clean Driving Record

- Able to work overtime and occasional out of town deliveries where you stay the night in a hotel
