Azure/AKS Platform Administrator, Artificial Intelligence Governance (ModelOp)

The Data and Artificial Intelligence Platforms Services Department plays a critical role in building and operating the enterprise technology platforms that support data, analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities across Desjardins. As part of this mission, we are seeking an Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Platform Administrator to play a key role in the implementation, operationalization, and ongoing management of ModelOp, our AI governance platform. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and will be responsible for the core platform foundations required to deliver and deploy a secure, resilient, and highly automated environment. This position requires a high degree of autonomy, strong technical leadership, and the ability to drive complex technical initiatives in a fast-paced environment characterized by operational pressure and ambiguity. More specifically, you will be required to:

- Lead the technological implementation and operationalization of the ModelOp platform, from initial design through operations.
- Serve as the technical lead for Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), guiding technological decisions and helping resolve complex challenges.
- Administer, maintain and update the Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments supporting the platform.
- Design and automate the deployment of infrastructure and platform components using an Infrastructure as Code approach.
- Define and implement the mechanisms ensuring the platform is available, resilient, secure and effective.
- Implement the DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps, observability, and monitoring practices necessary for platform operation.
- Ensure the integration of ModelOp with Azure services, as well as with the organization’s identity, security, and connectivity frameworks.
- Show initiative and autonomy in identifying issues, proposing solutions, and driving work forward, even when strategic directions or needs are still evolving.
- Collaborate with and provide technical leadership to teams across AI, architecture, infrastructure, operations, and cybersecurity functions.

What you bring to the table

- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience in the administration, engineering or operation of technological and cloud platforms
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Significant experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) in critical production environments
- Experience in implementing or evolving complex technological platforms, ideally within large corporate environments
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD and GitOps practices, as well as with GitHub, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of French is required
- Proficiency in Kubernetes, specifically cluster administration, node pools, namespaces, RBAC, Helm, ingress, secrets, certificates, network policies and autoscaling mechanisms
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code approaches, including Terraform
- Knowledge of Azure services related to identity, security, networking, logging and operations, including Entra ID, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Policy and ACR
