Qualcomm Hardware Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and meet performance requirements.

Our RF System Level Test (SLT) team in Taiwan develops production screening solutions for Qualcomm's leading-edge cellular modem and RF products. The team tests devices in conditions close to how they're actually used, which helps catch quality problems that conventional manufacturing tests can miss.

We are looking for a Senior RF SLT Engineer to bring up RF calibration and RF verification test content on system-level test platforms, to take it from bench validation to automated high-volume screening, and to drive yield and quality improvement with global RF, software, product engineering, and test teams.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in RF product test, RF calibration/verification, or system-level test, preferably for cellular modem, RF transceiver, or mobile/automotive SoC products.
- Working knowledge of cellular technologies ( GSM / WCDMA / LTE / 5G NR FR1 ); mmWave experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with RF calibration (e.g., Tx/Rx gain, feedback-receiver, DPD, RSB/IQ calibration) and RF verification based on 3GPP test methods: max power, frequency error, EVM, OBW, SEM, ACLR, and receiver sensitivity.
- Experience with RF test equipment such as radio communication testers/callboxes, spectrum/signal analyzers, RF shielding boxes, and RF splitters.
- Experience with test sequencers, test automation, and handler-based production test deployment.
- Programming/scripting in Python, C#, or C/C++ ; familiarity with source control (Git or equivalent).
- Ability to debug using modem/RF logs, Android debugging tools, or JTAG.
- Strong data analysis skills (yield, parametric distribution, correlation) and good English communication for working with globally distributed teams.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

- Define the RF SLT test strategy and coverage, including RF calibration, RF verification, and modem functional tests, working with RF systems, RF software, and validation teams.
- Bring up and validate RF test content on SLT bench and automated platforms, from early silicon through high-volume manufacturing.
- Develop, release, and maintain RF SLT test programs; set test limits and optimize test time and throughput.
- Plan RF test hardware (callboxes, shielding boxes, splitters, handlers) and model capacity to support volume screening
- Analyze RF failure signatures, correlate SLT results with other test insertions, and drive root cause analysis to improve yield and reduce DPPM.
- Work with automation and software teams to bring RF verification into handler-based automated testing.
- Prepare technical reports, test plans, and status updates for stakeholders.

- Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
- Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
