TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE ROLE:

Oxygen Clinicians are cherished by their clients, often being one of the few regular faces they see. It’s a dealbreaker if you aren’t excited to see photos and hear how proud they are of their grandchildren.

Take Ms. Jones, for example. She has COPD and many aspects of her life are a struggle. Thankfully, you’ll be at her side every breath of the way.

When she is discharged from the hospital, you’ll help ease her transition home by setting up her oxygen therapy, ensuring she feels comfortable and confident with her equipment. She’ll be afraid and apprehensive until you win her over with kindness, letting her know you are there to help, whenever needed. When on-call, she may reach out about her therapy/equipment – most things are solved by phone, but some require a late-night visit.

You’ll check-in with her regularly, performing and documenting assessments on her respiratory status, so she can live her best life. Helping her achieve independence and mobility with portable oxygen will be rewarding. You will impact her life in an incredible way.

Here’s a little more detail :

- This is a mobile homecare position, working independently, travelling to hospitals and client homes (including rural areas)

- You’ll lift, move, set-up and maintain home oxygen equipment up to 50 lbs.

- You’ll effectively communicate with interdisciplinary teams

- You’ll work with a variety of funding agencies and insurance providers

- You’ll be part of a scheduled on-call rotation

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO I NEED FOR THIS ROLE?

- Registered Respiratory Therapist, Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse

- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License and acceptable Driver's Abstract

- Experience in the oxygen field preferred (however, extensive training will be provided)
