Job Description Summary

Process active compound materials into final tablet form (dispense, blend and tablet) and perform quality control
checks to maintain consistency of product. Stage and keep the flow of assignments moving with minimal disruption.
Tasks reflect a medium level of complexity.

Job Description

Essential Functions

A. Promotes and follows all safety requirements as well as good manufacturing practices (GMPs) in job performance

as well as during any and all time spent on company property.

B. Check and reconcile recorded information and calculations in job folders when delegated by shift supervisor.

C. Operate and set up manufacturing equipment (dispensing, blending and tableting equipment) and follow SOPs, cGMP

and manufacturing instructions.

D. Perform/review quality checks on weight, thickness, hardness and friability of tablets at various stages of the process

according to manufacturing instructions and SOPs.

E. Troubleshoot problems with equipment and processing to assist other technicians to minimize disruptions to

production.

F. Perform operator-level machine adjustments and lubrication. Assist technicians with minor machine repairs.

G. Obtain and weigh in products for all shifts.

H. Move raw materials and product to/from vault, cage, process or storage areas.

I. Disassemble and clean equipment, rooms, hallways, washrooms according to department SOPs

J. Maintain product batch, room activity and equipment records.

K. Submit product samples to quality laboratories as required.

L. Check machines and work area for safe operation.

M. Assist in the training of individuals on equipment and processes in the department.

N. Oversee flow of projects to ensure availability of materials, equipment, technicians and paperwork as necessary.

O. Assist in writing or updating SOPs for the department.

P. Perform other related duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

Q. Operate motorized equipment as licensed and directed.

R. Work in and contribute to a team environment.

S. Performs other duties as assigned by supervision or as required by the job.

T. Completes all assigned tasks and documentation according to standard.

U. Works and communicates effectively in a team environment.

V. Continuous improvement focused and quality oriented as such is expected to participate in related activities and

events.

W. Learns to write and update SOP’s of basic level of complexity.

X. Willing and able to proficiently perform all level I functions.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Requires basic knowledge and the ability to apply mathematical concepts, spelling, English, and grammar

equivalent to a high school education.

Experience : Prefer two years of experience as a Tableting or Blending Technician in order to gain sufficient skill to

perform the requirements of the position under minimal supervision.

Organizational Relationship/Scope:

Other Preferred Skills: Computer skills in Word, Outlook and Excel; proven leadership ability, planning and

organization skills, teamwork skills, capability of managing and directing coworkers in a flexible and rapidly changing

environment.

Blending Equipment (meto lifts , screeners, HMI’s, Hoists and 150 cu. Ft blender) Tablet presses (XL 800) de dusters,

metal checks, vacuums, hardness testers, thickness gauge, scales, friabulator, manual pallet jacks, electric pallet

jacks, electric lift truck, material handling hand tools and BPCS.

Working Conditions:

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the

performance of the functions of this job.

1. Medium physical demand requires continuous scooping, dumping, lifting or moving of 5 to 45 kg and frequent

moving, pushing, pulling and rolling of up to 100 kg. Physical demand also involves standing/walking, reaching

and grasping (75%) and stooping, crouching and sitting.

2. Mental demand requires frequent attention to multiple, repetitive aspects of the tableting process as well as to

the details of specific manufacturing instructions, verification of product integrity and recording of information

on paperwork.

3. Visual demand is continuous and requires good hand/eye coordination, clarity of vision at 20 inches or less

and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus, to identify and distinguish colors, to handle small parts and

visually inspect the product for quality standards.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions: Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the

performance of the functions of this job.

1. Exposure to active materials requires incumbent to wear a respirator/mask on a regular basis.

2. Protective clothing including shirt, slacks, safety glasses, booties, hairnet and gloves are worn continuously in

performance of the job functions.

3. Work hazards include proximity to moving mechanical equipment, exposure to active powder ingredients and

dust, odors, cleaning solvents, noise, vibration and poor ventilation.

Location: Hobart, NY Facility

Hours: Monday – Thursday 4:00pm to 2:15am

Must have the ability to work overtime when needed.

Pay Transparency:

The expected base pay for this position is $30.58 per hour plus a shift differential. This position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable program. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion.
