Senior Engineer, Electrical Series

### What to Expect
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Series working within the EE Programmes department, the Senior Engineer will lead and support the delivery of series electrical activity. Working within a series team utilising internal and managing external headcount to plan and deliver hardware and software into all series programmes – either through programme change, issues resolution etc.

### What You'll Do
The role will involve working for the Electrical Series team taking on responsibility for delivery of series electrical activity.
• McLaren Production Centre Support: a. Lead the ES&C support within MPC to assist with all electrical issues that are raised. b. Maintain a right to left plan for component and/or QCR resolution delivery. c. Ensure critical issues are RCA’d and contained within target timelines. d. Understand external head count requirements to ensure series KPI’s are met. • Aftersales Support: a. Lead the investigation and resolution of all technical requests raised by aftersales b. Ensure all issues are tracked and resolutions agreed within current processes. • Support the ES&C team with: a. Quality issue investigation and resolution b. Oversee software change requests, support and work with Software Integration engineer to agree the change & target implementation timing. c. Support decision meetings with concise, accurate technical and project information. Ensure consequences of decisions are understood and fed back into series targets. d. Proven knowledge in electrical hardware design, including brackets and interfaces to other existing vehicle components for quick fault resolution. e. Update electrical standards. f. Experience in using CATIA v5 for basic component analysis preferred. g. Mentors juniors & lead small workstreams h. High autonomy within remit; willing to make design decisions and proposes trade‑offs i. Take ownership of designs, lead reviews, perform root‑cause analysis, improve processes

What You'll Bring

- Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree or related field 2:1 or above.
- Experience of High volume or niche volume programs in an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
- Strong experience in effective technical problem solving for electro-mechanical systems.
- Strong technical skills; able to design/optimise and solve novel problems
- Knowledge of DFMEA and its application in automotive environment.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols, Ethernet CAN, LIN
- Strong experience with project/issue tracking tools such as Mantis or Jira
