2nd Shift Fiber Optic Solder Technician

Work Schedule:
Onsite – Cleveland, OH
Our Team in Space and Defense Group is looking for a Solder Technician to join them. You will report to the Production Supervisor and have an onsite, 2nd shift work schedule in Highland Heights, Ohio. (3:30pm to 12:00am Monday to Friday)

To be considered for this role, here’s what you need to bring with you:

- High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Minimum of 5 years of hand soldering experience in a manufacturing or electronics production environment.
- Minimum of 1 year of microscope inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Quality conscious, mechanical aptitude, and good dexterity
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to accurately identify and distinguish colors as required for component identification, wiring, and quality inspection.
- Must be able to successfully pass applicable pre-employment screenings, including a color vision assessment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from assembly drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficiency with standard office software and technology, including Microsoft Office applications and tablet-based devices (e.g., iPad).

Preferred Qualifications

- IPC J-STD-001 certification preferred
- IPC-A- 610 certification preferred

As a Solder Technician, you will:

- Read, interpret, and follow work instructions, drawings, blueprints, processes, and procedures to perform hand soldering in accordance with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Use microscopes and other inspection equipment to solder, assemble, rework, and repair wires, cables, and small electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and assemblies.
- Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications; promptly report defects, discrepancies, or equipment issues.
- Safely handle materials and perform work within an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controlled environment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area; follow all safety practices and report unsafe conditions.
- Complete required training, certifications, and skill development activities to maintain job proficiency and support operational requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with team members by sharing knowledge and supporting production goals.
- Maintain reliable attendance and adhere to established schedules, policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business and operational needs.

- Meet quality, productivity, and customer requirements while maintaining low levels of nonconforming product.
- Complete work accurately, efficiently, and within established production targets and timeframes.
- Consistently achieve operational goals and comply with defined processes and specifications.

- Comply with all safety, quality, regulatory, and company requirements, including AS9100, ATEX, and ISO standards.
- Support cross-functional communication and teamwork to achieve company objectives.
- Demonstrate flexibility in work schedules, including overtime or extended hours as business needs require.
- Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range Transparency:
Cleveland, OH $21.00–$24.00 Hourly
