Saw Operator / Steel Fabrication Shop

Company Overview

Sargon Steel is looking for a dependable Saw Operator to join our Steel Fabrication Shop. This position is responsible for cutting and preparing materials for fabrication, receiving incoming material, and keeping materials organized to help the shop stay on schedule.

We’re looking for someone who shows up on time, is dependable, reliable, pays attention to detail, and takes pride in keeping their work and materials organized.

Key Responsibilities

- Cut materials needed for fabrication accurately and in a timely manner to keep up with shop production demands

- Measure and mark materials according to required dimensions

- Operate saws and other shop equipment safely

- Unload trucks and receive incoming material deliveries

- Verify and account for materials received

- Label incoming materials with the appropriate PO numbers

- Organize and properly store materials in the yard and shop

- Operate a forklift to move and organize materials

- Maintain a clean and organized work area

- Follow all company and shop safety procedures

- Assist with other shop duties as needed

Qualifications

- Ability to perform basic math

- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure

- Ability to use Speed Square

- Forklift experience

- Good organizational skills

- Dependable attendance and punctuality

- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment

- Saw operation or steel fabrication experience is a plus
