A Day in the Life

We are hiring an Executive Design Support Specialist to serve as an embedded creative partner supporting the Quality, Development & Innovation organization through strategic visual communications, presentation design, and creative development. This role transforms complex technical, operational, and business information into compelling visual stories, executive communications, presentations, and branded creative assets that help leaders communicate clearly and effectively.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional design skills with strong business acumen, curiosity, and a consultative mindset. They are comfortable partnering with senior leaders and subject matter experts, quickly understanding complex content, and translating it into clear, engaging, audience-focused communications.

This role reports through Corporate Content & Creative (C3) and provides dedicated design support to the Quality, Development & Innovation organization. The position is based in Galway, Ireland, and collaborates with partners across functions, regions, and time zones.

A Day in The Life Of:

- Design executive presentations, leadership communications, town halls and strategic storytelling materials
- Transform complex technical, operational and business information into clear, engaging visual narratives
- Develop presentation templates, slide libraries, toolkits and reusable assets that improve consistency and efficiency
- Create infographics, process diagrams, data visualizations and other information design solutions
- Apply strong design principles across storytelling, hierarchy, accessibility, typography, layout, imagery and data presentation
- Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to shape content, strengthen narratives and drive communication impact
- Design and produce brand aligned content for internal communications, enterprise initiatives, digital channels and print materials
- Translate approved concepts, content and brand systems into polished visual assets and scalable design solutions
- Support light motion graphics, animation and video development when appropriate
- Consult with stakeholders to understand business objectives and recommend effective visual approaches
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to gather requirements, organize information and guide projects toward audience focused outcomes
- Build strong partnerships across communications, creative and business teams
- Manage projects from concept through final delivery, including production, revisions, proofing and file preparation
- Balance multiple priorities while maintaining quality, accuracy, responsiveness and clear communication
- Ensure adherence to creative workflows, accessibility requirements, brand standards, file management practices and asset governance
- Review work for content accuracy, visual quality, consistency, and compliance while proactively identifying risks and dependencies

Key Skills & Experience

Required Qualifications

- Advanced PowerPoint and Microsoft 365 expertise, including presentation design, template development, slide masters and visual storytelling
- Strong design fundamentals in typography, layout, color, imagery, visual hierarchy and accessibility
- Ability to translate complex technical, operational, and business information into clear visual communications
- Experience creating executive presentations, leadership communications, and information design solutions
- Experience with motion graphics, video editing, or multimedia content development
- Strong data visualization and information architecture skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and project management capabilities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and manage multiple priorities
- Use AI enabled creative workflows and emerging design technologies

Preferred Qualifications

- Develop executive communications, change-management initiatives, or employee engagement campaigns
- Create design systems, content libraries, templates, and communication toolkits
- Experience working in healthcare, medical device, life sciences, or other regulated industries

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
