Vice President, Virtual Design & Construction

ARCO is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Vice President of Virtual Design & Construction to build and lead our enterprise VDC function from the ground up. In this role, you'll define how ARCO approaches BIM, model coordination, and construction technology across every business unit, scaling VDC into an enterprise-wide value driver. A DAY IN THE LIFE

- Define ARCO's enterprise VDC vision, roadmap, and maturity model across all business units

- Establish standards and templates for BIM execution plans, modeling standards, and LOD requirements company-wide

- Set the technology stack strategy for BIM project execution, coordination platforms, and reality capture, and own build vs. buy decisions

- Build a scalable operating model that flexes across entity size and project type

- Recruit, structure, and lead a distributed team of VDC managers, BIM coordinators, and technologists

- Partner with Project Managers/Directors of Operations to embed VDC earlier in estimating and design phases

- Partner with Operations and Field leadership to ensure model-to-field workflows are adopted on projects

- Develop KPIs that quantify VDC's impact on clash avoidance, schedule compression, rework reduction, and prefabrication opportunities

- Report enterprise VDC performance and ROI to executive leadership on a regular cadence

- Represent VDC in enterprise technology governance conversations alongside Innovation and IT

- Monitor industry trends and competitor VDC/construction technology practices

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

- 12-15 years of collective experience in VDC, BIM management, or construction technology, with demonstrated VP-level or equivalent scope, including leadership of multi-project or multi-entity teams

- Demonstrated experience building or scaling a VDC function, not just operating within an existing one

- Deep working knowledge of BIM authoring and coordination platforms (Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/Forma, or equivalent)

- Strong track record translating technical VDC output into executive-level business impact

- Experience working across multiple business units, regions, or divisions in a matrixed organization

- Experience delivering VDC on Mission Critical and other niche/specialized construction sectors (industrial, self storage, process, energy and infrastructure, entertainment, Tenant Solutions, Multi-family, Nuclear) is required

- Experience in commercial design-build general contracting is required; plan and spec background does not translate to this role

- Familiarity with construction AI/technology adoption initiatives and change management at scale

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
