About this role

The Professional Team Growth Consultant serves as a trusted consultant to financial advisors and advisory teams, providing strategic consulting on practice management, business planning, organizational design, financial management, succession planning, and ownership transitions. Partners with teams to improve business performance, strengthen leadership effectiveness, optimize operations, and support long-term growth and sustainability. Facilitates complex business discussions, analyzes practice performance data, and delivers actionable recommendations that drive scalability, profitability, and enhanced client outcomes. Leads consulting engagements, workshops, and team development initiatives while collaborating with field leaders and key partners to support business transformation and organizational change.

This can be a remote position within the US.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Practice Management Consulting

- Serve as a trusted advisor and consultant to financial advisors and advisory teams on advanced practice management topics.
- Facilitate team discovery, strategic planning, organizational design, and business planning engagements.
- Guide teams through complex business decisions involving ownership, governance, compensation, revenue-sharing structures, entity formation, succession, continuity, and transition planning.
- Consult on organizational structure, role clarity, accountability, career pathing, staffing models, and leadership development.
- Assist teams in identifying operational constraints and implementing solutions to improve capacity, efficiency, scalability, and client experience.
- Facilitate difficult team discussions and negotiations involving expectations, responsibilities, decision-making authority, and future ownership considerations.

Financial Management & Practice Analytics

- Analyze financial, operational, and productivity data to identify opportunities for business growth and improved performance.
- Guide advisory teams through practice financial management, including profitability analysis, practice health ratios, cash flow considerations, and return-on-investment evaluations.
- Utilize Salesforce, Power BI, financial workbooks, and other analytical tools to develop recommendations that improve business outcomes.
- Deliver benchmarking insights and business performance comparisons to support strategic decision-making.

Succession, Continuity & Ownership Planning

- Facilitate continuity, succession, merger, acquisition, and ownership transition discussions.
- Consult on governance structures, ownership allocation, equity considerations, and long-term business sustainability.
- Guide teams through business transition planning, integration planning, and readiness assessments.
- Partner with field leaders and specialized matrix partners to support complex team transitions and growth opportunities.

Facilitation & Advisor Engagement

- Lead virtual and in-person consulting engagements with advisory teams across the country.
- Facilitate individual, team, and cohort-based learning experiences designed to drive business transformation and team effectiveness.
- Deliver workshops, executive briefings, breakout sessions, and consulting programs focused on practice growth, leadership, organizational development, and business sustainability.
- Build strong relationships with advisors, teams, and support staff to influence behavioral change and adoption of recommended strategies.

Additional Expertise

- Advanced knowledge of advisory practice management, business planning, organizational design, human capital strategy, and financial management.
- Experience facilitating complex business and interpersonal discussions among business owners and leadership teams.
- Knowledge of ownership structures, governance models, revenue-sharing arrangements, succession planning, continuity planning, and entity-based business models.
- Ability to analyze business performance metrics and translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Strong consulting, facilitation, change management, and executive communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority and guide teams through periods of significant organizational change.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Required:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in coaching/consulting financial advisors through teaming initiatives, or in creating and implementing programs focused on collaborative practice-building, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- Practice management experience with advanced teaming structures, including expertise in client service models, team building, and model office practices.
- Experience in content creation and facilitation, skilled in presenting to drive understanding and success in large or small group settings.
- Demonstrated ability to manage change effectively, with a flexible and adaptable approach, while maintaining a strong results-oriented focus.
- Proficient with internal sales advice platforms designed for delivering personalized client experiences, Salesforce, and other tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Power BI)

Preferred:

- Prior experience leading sales groups, financial advisors or offices.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $114,731.00 - $155,224.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
