Research Program Analyst (Department of Medicine- Infectious Diseases)

We are seeking a Research Program Analyst   who will have a pivotal role in an NIH-funded research study. This position will be the on-site lead for a Respondent-Driven Sampling study based in Bangor, Maine.  The Research Program Analyst will partner with local community-based organizations in Bangor, Maine, to address an ongoing outbreak of HIV among people who inject drugs. Their primary responsibilities will be oversight of study implementation, coordination with community partners, guidance on scope and approach, and collaborative leadership with the Johns Hopkins research team based in Baltimore, MD.

The Research Program Analyst leads a specialized function in a research program that may include data management planning, research design, data-driven program evaluation, optimizing funding opportunities, and/or other technical duties that contribute to the quality and advancement of the research.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

- Identify research initiatives and inquiries to advance and assess the research priorities of the faculty.

- Lead research initiatives, e.g. data management activities, program evaluation, internal and external reporting.

- Contribute to the preparation and writing of reports to funders, manuscripts for publication, and presentations for internal and professional meetings.

- Provide and/or contribute to mentoring and training efforts.

- Consult with and advise faculty and leadership on systems, policies and practices key to research success.

- Other duties as assigned.

In addition to the duties above

- Pre-implementation (vetting fixed sites, working on the ground with Stakeholders for the project, assisting with generation of recruitment activity).
- Help with recruitment within the community.
- Monitor study progress during the project.
- Serve as liaison to local stakeholders who are needed for project.

Minimum Qualifications

- Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Five years of related experience in a research focus area.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
