Job Summary:
Supports diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and radiologic procedures across cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and electrophysiology services. Ensures safe, efficient and high-quality patient care by assisting physicians during procedures, operating imaging and monitoring equipment, and maintaining sterile techniques while adapting to multiple procedural environments across the region.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performs all required technical and clinical functions before, during and after electrophysiology, cardiac catheterization, and interventional radiology procedures.
- Prepares patients for procedures, including review of medical history, positioning, and preparation of procedural sites. Monitors patients while selecting appropriate anatomic, imaging and technical parameters as well as assisting physicians during invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Prepares, operates, and troubleshoots electrophysiology (EP), cath lab, and interventional radiology equipment; reports malfunctions and performs lock/tag-out procedures as needed and supports EP functions including pacing, recording, mapping, ablation setup, tilt table testing, and device interrogation.
- Scrubs, circulates, and/or monitors cases assigned throughout procedures, including ECGs, hemodynamics, oximetry, and report abnormal findings. Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and regulatory guidelines.
- Recognizes documents, recordings, or imaging artifacts and responds appropriately. Follows radiation safety standards and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Responds to emergency situations and participates in on-call coverage as required; coordinates patient care activities and supports outpatient and inpatient scheduling as assigned.
- Floats between Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL), Interventional Radiology (IVR), and Electrophysiology (EP) labs to meet staffing and volume demands.
- Participates in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance. Maintains clean, safe, and organized procedural environment. Precepts and mentors staff or students as needed.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

- Completion of a Cardiovascular or Radiology Technology program

EXPERIENCE

- Three years' experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
- Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
- Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Rare kneeling and sitting.
