Project Management Office (PMO) Lead

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Management Office Lead to join our Portfolio Management & Governance team as part of the Technology Project Management Office(TPMO). The position is reporting to the Director, Portfolio Governance, you will be responsible to lead and support a team of Associate Project Managers and Project Analysts to perform portfolio support and governance for Technology Strategic initiatives.

What you will do

Lead a team of Associate Project Managers and Project Analysts

- Play a leadership role in evolving our TPMO Portfolio support and Governance team

- You will lead a team of Associate Project Managers that perform project control functions, PM functions and Governance activities for Technology initiatives

- Collaborate with Portfolio leaders to support the management of the Technology portfolio’s, including development of reports, dashboards and measurement of portfolio performance and KPI’s

Provide Portfolio support to Portfolio Leaders

- Provide portfolio support functions to the Portfolio Leaders, execute on Governance activities for the Technology strategic initiatives

- Provide reporting & information support to the annual initiatives planning process and interlock sessions with various Business unit tech portfolio leads

- Support informed decision‑making through clear reporting, metrics, KPI tracking, and a reliable single source of truth

Governance

- Support the evolution of Governance for the portfolio of initiatives within Technology with insights and training

- Ensure Governance objectives are being managed and met

- Ensure data quality within the Clarity to support project, portfolio management and reporting

What you will bring

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager, or Project Control Officer for technology projects within the financial services or insurance industry

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience directly and indirectly managing teams of project professionals including staff and contingent labour

- Experience with Clarity for project management and portfolio management

- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience

- PMP certification, change management, and financial education is desirable

- Strong flexibility, resiliency, and adaptability

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare communications and interact effectively with all levels, technical and non-technical within the organization

- Expert multi-tasker , juggling priorities and working in a fast paced/ demanding environment

- Demonstrates objectivity, putting organizational direction ahead of their own interests/agendas

- Encourages innovation, thinks outside boundaries and apparent limitations

- Strong leadership capability, executing as appropriate in the areas of responsibility

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: London. Toronto, Winnipeg.

The base salary for this position is between $80,400 - $130,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
