The Opportunity:
The Developer III leads complex, cross program software projects and sets technical direction across multiple initiatives. As a senior full stack engineer and solution architect, you will mentor teams, establish best practices, and deliver advanced, scalable, cloud native solutions with a strong emphasis on DevSecOps, performance, accessibility, and reliability on AWS. This role is pivotal in driving architectural decisions, modern CI/CD execution, and SRE practices for mission critical systems.

You will operate as the senior technical authority within Agile delivery, shaping cloud architectures, microservice patterns, and security controls while guiding teams to high quality releases. You’ll pair deep hands on engineering with leadership—owning design reviews, enforcing standards, and ensuring production readiness, including off-hour deployment support when needed.

Responsibilities:

- You will operate as the senior technical authority within Agile delivery, shaping cloud architectures, microservice patterns, and security controls while guiding teams to high quality releases. You’ll pair deep hands on engineering with leadership—owning design reviews, enforcing standards, and ensuring production readiness, including off hours deployment support when needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Architecture & Full Stack Delivery Lead full stack development (ReactJS front end; Java/Spring or Node.js back end) with modular microservices on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, EKS/ECS/Fargate).
- Own high level technical decision making—architecture options, design trade offs, and security patterns; codify best practices and enforce standards across teams.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation: API specifications, architecture diagrams, service interaction models, deployment runbooks, and operational playbooks.

- DevSecOps, Containers & CI/CD Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and/or GitLab CI; implement artifact versioning, policy as code, and gated promotions.
- Champion containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes orchestration with robust observability, security, and resiliency controls.

- Quality, SRE & Performance Establish automated testing strategies (unit, integration, contract, performance, accessibility) and integrate results into pipelines.
- Drive SRE practices: performance monitoring, alerting, error budgets, capacity planning, and incident response; lead off hours deployment windows when required.

- Leadership & Mentorship Mentor engineers across multiple teams; lead design reviews, pair programming sessions, and technical deep dives to elevate engineering maturity.
- Partner with Product Owners, BAs, QA, and Security to align scope, acceptance criteria, risk posture, and compliance expectations.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field; 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
- Proven Agile delivery leadership; hands on expertise with Java/Spring, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern front end frameworks (e.g., React).
- Deep knowledge of cloud architectures, REST APIs, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and QA frameworks integrated into pipelines.
- Strong database experience (schema design, query optimization) across relational and NoSQL stores; mastery of scalable design patterns and cloud messaging.
- Exceptional communication skills; proven success in distributed collaboration and commitment to continuous learning.

Desired:

- AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Developer Associate, or AWS DevOps Professional.
- Advanced tooling and platforms: Docker, Kubernetes, JMS/SQS/SNS, Kafka, AWS Lambda, NiFi; PKI familiarity.
- Experience with Mocha/Chai or comparable test frameworks; strong background in DevOps environments and COTS/GOTS toolchains.
- OOP specialization and proficiency in Python, Groovy, or Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Istio service mesh and OpenAPI 3.0 for API design and documentation.

Pay Range :

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$120,800 - $265,800
