Mechanical Supervisor - JLL

What this job involves: An experienced maintenance supervisor with training and hands-on experience in plumbing, pipefitting, steam systems, sheet metal fabrication, pumps, and motor systems to work under minimal supervision as part of the site maintenance team. Primary responsibility is overseeing the daily operations and supervision of the in-house 24x7 maintenance team.

Additional responsibilities include assistance with shutdowns, utility coordination, equipment walk-downs, piping system repairs, welding repairs, fabrication work, and operation of various facility utility systems.

What your day-to-day will look like:

- Oversight of in-house (unionized) and third-party maintenance activities
- Oversight of steam and water utility system operations and repairs
- Manage work order processes utilizing multiple CMMS for scheduling and execution of daily maintenance activities
- Coordinate urgent and emergency repair work
- Lead teams through JHAs, permits, and safe work execution
- Track time off and overtime performed by maintenance technicians
- Maintain operational and maintenance logs where applicable
- Troubleshoot plumbing, steam, piping, pump, and motor systems
- Ensure proper tools, materials, and equipment are available for work execution
- Support fabrication and field modification activities as needed
- Coordinate and execute system and equipment shutdowns
- Report utility system status and operational impacts to stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for system improvements, repairs, and reliability enhancements
- Read, interpret, and red-line piping and utility drawings
- Support steam distribution, condensate return, domestic water, compressed air, and process piping systems
- Supervise in-house technicians
- Manage overtime, payroll, and PTO of staff
- Work closely with compliance and safety teams to ensure adherence to procedures and protocols
- Attendance to planning, scheduling, department-related meetings on a regular basis
- Creating and responding to custom reports in order to better utilize available labor force
- Working knowledge of ( Steam and condensate systems, Domestic water and sanitary systems, Pumps and motor replacements, Pipefitting and fabrication, Compressed air systems, Utility distribution systems, Valves, heat exchangers, and hydronic systems and Low-voltage electrical awareness related to motor and pump operations )
- Understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance strategies
- Provide recommendations to management and engineering teams regarding repairs, upgrades, replacements, and operational improvements
- Support commissioning and startup activities for utility and infrastructure projects

Required Qualifications:

- 7+ years of plumbing, pipefitting, steam systems, mechanical maintenance, or related trade experience
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
- CMMS experience
- Proficient with email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience supporting utility systems in industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, or critical environments
- GMP/GxP Environment experience
- Familiarity with Maximo CMMS

Location: North Brunswick, NJ

Expected compensation for this position:

110,000.00 – 120,000.00 USD per year

Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
