About this role
The Opportunity
You'll be the first point of contact for IT at our warehouse locations, as well as supporting wider company staff beyond the pharmacy and warehouse environment — keeping devices, printers, scanners, and people working.
It's a hands-on, on-site role suited to someone early in their IT career who wants to learn fast in a busy operational environment, with real ownership from day one and a clear path to grow. Because the warehouse dispatches on weekends, this role includes a mandatory weekend rota — weekend cover is the core reason the role exists, so it's a firm requirement rather than an occasional extra.
What you'll do
- First-Line On-Site Support: Act as the main contact for warehouse and office staff logging, triaging, and resolving day-to-day IT issues, and escalating complex matters to the wider Group IT team.
- Device Management: Set up, configure, and enrol laptops and workstations, managing devices through our MDM solutions.
- Hardware & Operations: Support warehouse-specific hardware, including handheld scanners, barcode readers, label and thermal printers, and packing-station equipment to keep dispatch running smoothly.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve everyday connectivity, peripheral, and printing issues across the site.
- Identity & Access Management: Handle user account administration in Google Workspace (creating, suspending, and troubleshooting accounts and groups).
- Lifecycle & Onboarding: Own starter and leaver IT setups on-site, preparing devices and accounts for new joiners and securely recovering equipment from leavers.
- Asset & Stock Control: Maintain accurate records for IT asset management and manage consumable stock levels (devices, peripherals, printing labels).
- Weekend Operational Cover: Provide responsive IT cover during weekend dispatch operations, prioritizing any issues that would otherwise block fulfilment.
- Security & Compliance: Adhere strictly to security and compliance practices in a regulated, and security focused environment handling sensitive data.
What we are looking for
Essential Criteria
- Experience: At least two years of hands-on experience in an IT support role either through an IT apprenticeship or in a service-desk / first-line position.
- Technical & Hands-On Focus: Comfortable with the physical, deskside side of support (troubleshooting hardware, warehouse equipment, and local infrastructure), not just remote or phone-based ticketing.
- OS & Hardware Proficiency: Working grasp of Windows and/or macOS, with confidence troubleshooting common hardware and peripherals.
- Soft Skills: Clear, friendly communication and a calm, methodical approach when working in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability: Willingness and full availability to work the required weekend rota (non-negotiable).
- Physical Capabilities & Location: Comfortable with the physical aspects of the role (setting up, moving, and racking equipment) and being based fully on-site.
- Eligibility: Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Criteria
- Exposure to Google Workspace administration.
- Experience with MDM platforms (Kandji, Jamf, or Microsoft Intune).
- Prior experience working within a warehouse, logistics, or operational environment.
- Familiarity with modern ticketing and service-desk tools.
- Basic networking knowledge (Wi-Fi access points, network switches, cabling).
- CompTIA A+ or a similar entry-level IT certification.
What we offer
- Competitive salary
- Private medical insurance
- Gym and wellness benefit via Wellhub
- Cycle to work and electric car salary sacrifice schemes
- 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, and generous parental leave and flexible working
- A fun and friendly working environment with motivated colleagues working towards the same goal
- A genuinely early seat at one of the most promising scale-ups in healthcare
