About this role
We are looking for a Lead Embedded Software Engineer to own the full path from product requirements to working, tested firmware. You will translate product-level goals into system software architecture, write production code, and lead a team of embedded engineers to ship reliable, high-performance software.
This is a player-coach role. You write code every day while also guiding the team, reviewing designs, and setting technical direction. You run debuggers and whiteboards with equal ease.
What you will do:
- Own complete PCBA and electrical system development from architecture through mass production.
- Design schematic capture and high-density PCB layouts using Altium Designer, optimizing minimal space and thermal efficiency.
- Develop power architecture, conduct power analysis, and optimize low-power consumption in resource-constrained devices.
- Perform circuit analysis including signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal simulation using SPICE and CAD tools.
- Select and evaluate components for performance, power efficiency, reliability, and cost-effective mass production.
- Develop test strategies and execute design verification, qualification, and production testing.
- Lead design reviews and collaborate with product, mechanical, industrial design, RF, and battery teams on system integration.
- Hands-on debugging of PCBA signals, power, bring-up, and other issues with feedback into design iterations.
- Support manufacturing for cost optimization, yield improvement, and efficient mass production.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field; or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience designing consumer electronics products
- Hands-on experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and board bring-up in Altium Designer
- Strong expertise in power management, low-power design, and thermal analysis
- Experience with circuit simulation (SPICE) and mixed-signal circuit design (analog and digital)
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment and test planning for product validation
- Experience working with industrial designers and mechanical engineers on form factor integration
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with low-power and battery-powered mobile device design
- Experience with multiple PCB technologies (rigid, flex, rigid flex)
- Experience with RF circuit design and antenna integration
- Experience with IoT, wearables, phones, or compact consumer electronics
- Experience bringing consumer products to mass production
This is a full time, exempt position, based out of our Saratoga office. The total compensation packaged will be determined by various factors such as your relevant job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
We are redefining how satellites are designed, manufactured and used—so we’re looking for candidates with passion, deep knowledge and direct experience on LEO satellite component development, design and in-orbit activities. If that’s your experience – then we’ll be immediately wow-ed.

In your first 90 days, you will have mapped the current embedded software architecture, identified the highest-priority gaps, and shipped at least one meaningful feature end-to-end. Within six months, you will have established a team testing standard, introduced measurable improvements to firmware reliability, and built strong working relationships with hardware and systems engineering.
