About Superset
Superset is building self-improving software and defining the next way software gets made. Tens of thousands of engineers already use Superset as their primary IDE, including engineers at Wix, DoorDash, and Netflix.
As agents take on more of the coding, how should people direct the work, understand what’s happening, and decide what ships? We’re looking for a founding design engineer to help define that experience.
You’ll partner closely with our CPO to shape the product, owning design and frontend implementation from early exploration through production in React and TypeScript. You’ll also define how Superset presents itself to the world through our brand and website.
What you’ll do
* Design and build the workflows engineers use to coordinate agents, understand their progress, step in when needed, and review their work.
* Own our visual direction across the product, website, and launch pages.
* Prototype quickly, then refine the details—from typography and motion to keyboard interactions and accessibility.
* Talk directly with users, use feedback and product data to guide decisions, and improve the experience after it ships.
* Build reusable components and interaction patterns that help the team ship faster.
In your first 90 days, you’ll establish our visual direction, launch a new homepage, and ship a meaningful improvement to the product experience.
About you
* You’ve shipped polished interfaces and can explain what you designed and coded.
* You bring strong visual and interaction craft and have made technical or data-rich products understandable without removing the control advanced users need.
* You have strong visual taste and are comfortable designing and prototyping in Figma.
* You can build and debug production UI with React, TypeScript, CSS, and Tailwind.
* You use coding agents daily and can work independently.
* You can work in person in San Francisco five days a week.
Bonus if you:
* Have experience with dev tools, chat applications, collaborative/multiplayer design tools
* Have shipped AI or agent experiences, especially workflows that move between human approval and autonomous action.
* Have an engineering background or experience building agent-facing interfaces

We believe design will play a defining role in how people build software with agents. You’ll work closely with our CPO and founders, with the ownership to challenge assumptions, shape the product, and take ideas into production.
Compensation and benefits
$150k–$220k base plus 1.0%–1.5% equity.
We cover Kaiser Platinum 90 HMO 0/10 healthcare and Guardian 1500 dental plans, and offer a Guideline 401(k), unlimited time off, a $5k desk stipend, and meals in the office.
