Summary

The Medical Assistant supports physicians and the care team in delivering high-quality patient care while providing exceptional customer service to patients and families. Key Responsibilities

- Support direct patient care activities, including obtaining patient histories and vital signs, verifying medication lists, preparing charts, managing documentation, tracking laboratory results, and completing pre-visit planning.
- Perform routine clinical procedures such as EKGs, rapid strep testing, urine dip testing, spirometry, nebulizer treatments, and other approved diagnostic procedures.
- Administer medications and injections, including vaccines, in accordance with established protocols.
- Educate patients on medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care within scope of practice.
- Schedule, coordinate, and monitor STAT referrals, specialty appointments, and insurance pre-authorizations.
- Review quality reports, identify gaps in care, and support initiatives to improve patient outcomes and quality metrics.
- Maintain inventory levels for medications and medical supplies.
- Monitor and document vaccine storage temperatures in compliance with Department of Health regulations.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, environmental, OSHA, and Department of Health standards.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all federal, state, and local confidentiality regulations.
- Protect patient demographic, clinical, and financial information in accordance with Brown Health Medical Group Primary Care guidelines.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and an exceptional patient experience.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and workshops related to role responsibilities and office operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

### Minimum Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Medical Assistant certification
Experience
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program or a minimum of three years of Medical Assistant experience required.
- Candidates without formal Medical Assistant training may be considered if they possess at least three years of relevant healthcare experience in a comparable role, such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Medical Student, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, or similar healthcare position.

Pay Range:
$18.13-$29.90
