IT Operations Analyst - SAM

Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions division is looking for a IT Operations Analyst – Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst to join our team in Tucson, Arizona . Reporting to the Director, Operations & End User Services (EUS) , this role supports the global Operations & EUS organization through a blended focus on Software Asset Management, project coordination, and reporting. The position works closely with IT Security, Procurement, Finance, and regional EUS teams to ensure software compliance, cost optimization, governance, and successful project delivery across all regions.

As an IT Operations Analyst – Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst you will be responsible for these activities:

Software Asset Management

- Maintain and reconcile the enterprise software catalog against license entitlements and deployed software.
- Track software renewals, expirations, and true-up requirements to support license compliance and cost management.
- Support consolidation and management of AI and developer tool licensing, including Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT Enterprise.
- Process software requests through ServiceNow while validating demand against available license entitlements.

Project Coordination

- Coordinate Software Asset Management and End User Services operational projects across multiple regions.
- Maintain project plans, trackers, RAID logs, milestones, and action items.
- Support cross-functional and cross-regional initiatives by coordinating activities with regional EUS teams and stakeholders.
- Schedule meetings, document outcomes, and follow up on project deliverables and open actions.

Dashboards & Reporting

- Develop and maintain dashboards reporting on software utilization, licensing costs, compliance risks, and project status.
- Prepare monthly operational reports and executive summaries for leadership.
- Provide visibility into software asset management performance and project progress.

Compliance & Governance

- Support software governance processes, including review checkpoints with IT Security and GRC teams.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for internal and external software licensing reviews.
- Ensure compliance with organizational software procurement and licensing standards.

Process Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve software request, approval, and asset management processes.
- Document procedures and maintain knowledge base content to support operational consistency.
- Recommend process enhancements that improve efficiency, visibility, and stakeholder experience.

Must Have:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software asset management, IT operations, project coordination, or a related field.
- Experience managing software licensing, renewals, compliance activities, and operational processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating projects, tracking deliverables, and managing project documentation.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and regions in a global environment.

Nice To Have:

- Experience supporting a multi-region or global organization.
- Experience with ServiceNow, software licensing tools, and reporting platforms.
- ITIL, CSAM, CAMP, CAPM, or similar industry certifications.
- Experience supporting software governance, compliance, or audit activities.
