S&OP Analyst

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The S&OE Analyst provides dedicated execution support to the Wholesale Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) organization by monitoring material availability, coordinating shortage recovery, and driving planning exceptions to closure. The role converts daily S&OE priorities into coordinated actions across plants, procurement, logistics, and planning, helping protect customer commitments and production continuity. Success is reflected in timely risk visibility, disciplined exception follow-through, improved support for inventory deployment and network balancing, and stronger planning-data discipline. By owning tactical material-planning work, the position also increases leadership capacity for network optimization, process governance, Kinaxis/Maestro adoption, service recovery, and cost-to-serve improvement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Own material availability and shortage recovery (30%)

- Monitor critical material availability, constrained components, component shortages, and material arrivals across the Wholesale network.

- Maintain clear shortage visibility, identify emerging supply risks, and escalate issues through the S&OE cadence with recommended recovery actions.

- Drive actions to closure by tracking owners, timing, dependencies, and changes in customer or production exposure.

Coordinate material readiness and execution (25%)

- Coordinate material readiness across plants, procurement, logistics, and planning to support production continuity and customer commitments.

- Support open-order review, backlog recovery, production prioritization, order-transfer prioritization, and customer-move execution where material constraints are a driver.

- Facilitate rapid cross-functional follow-through when material availability, timing, or allocation changes.

Support inventory deployment and network balancing (20%)

- Provide planning analysis and execution support for constrained-inventory deployment and network balancing decisions.

- Help evaluate service, inventory, freight, and total supply-cost trade-offs associated with customer moves and material positioning.

- Monitor agreed deployment actions and surface exceptions that could affect service or inventory health.

Manage planning exceptions and data discipline (15%)

- Support Kinaxis/Maestro exception management and maintain timely, accurate planning inputs and issue status.

- Use planning-system outputs and standard S&OE reporting to prioritize material exceptions requiring action.

- Reinforce standard work, data discipline, and traceable decision follow-through across the planning process.

Enable S&OE performance and continuous improvement (10%)

- Translate S&OE actions into sustained service, inventory, and cost performance through structured follow-up and root-cause visibility.

- Identify recurring material-planning issues and recommend improvements to reporting, escalation, standard work, and planning processes.

- Provide concise updates on risks, recovery status, decisions needed, and unresolved dependencies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

- At least 3 years of experience in material planning, supply planning, inventory management, production planning, procurement, logistics, or a related manufacturing supply-chain role.

- Experience using ERP, MRP, or advanced planning systems to review material requirements, inventory, supply exceptions, and recovery actions.

- Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to organize, analyze, and communicate planning data.

- Ability to work cross-functionally, manage competing priorities, and communicate risks and required actions clearly.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

- Experience in a multi-site manufacturing or distribution network.

- Experience supporting S&OE, S&OP, or integrated business planning processes.

- Experience with Kinaxis/Maestro and/or SAP planning processes.

- Experience with shortage management, inventory deployment, backlog recovery, customer allocation, or network balancing.

- Experience evaluating service, inventory, freight, and total supply-cost trade-offs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

- Knowledge of material planning, inventory management, MRP concepts, supply constraints, and production-readiness requirements.

- Strong analytical problem-solving and root-cause skills, with the ability to convert data into prioritized action.

- Disciplined follow-through, attention to detail, and comfort managing exception-based work in a fast-moving environment.

- Clear written and verbal communication, including concise escalation of business impact, recovery status, and decisions needed.

- Ability to influence without direct authority and build effective working relationships across plants, procurement, logistics, planning, customer service, and leadership.

- Continuous-improvement mindset and ability to establish repeatable standard work.
