Summary

Bell’s Network Strategy team is seeking a highly motivated and visionary leader to join the team defining our long-term network architecture. In this senior technical leadership role, you will drive the strategic 3+ year roadmap with a heavy focus on Wireless Core Networks, Satellite Architecture, Priority Services, and AI/Automation/APIs.

As a key Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will research and evaluate emerging technologies, build business cases, and support technology execution teams as they introduce next-generation capabilities. This is a highly visible role requiring active engagement with external vendors, standards bodies, industry groups, regulatory agencies, and diverse internal business units.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategy & Roadmap Ownership: Define and maintain the 3+ year architectural strategy and technology roadmap focusing on wireless core, satellite architecture, 6G evolution, network services, AI, automation, and APIs.

- Technology Innovation & PoCs: Identify, research, and assess emerging technology advancements. Define architectural requirements, build Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), and host industry workshops to drive enhanced performance, security, and efficiency.

- New Service Enablement: Partner with Product and Business development teams to evaluate new market requirements, determine technical feasibility, and design end-to-end network capabilities.

- Standards, Governance & Compliance: Track global telecom industry trends, standards, and regulatory updates. Align internal strategies with key global bodies (e.g., 3GPP, GSMA, ATIS, ETSI).

- Convergence & Integration: Think end-to-end to drive seamless integration and optimal performance across wireless, wireline, and satellite domains.

- Stakeholder & Vendor Alignment: Collaborate closely with IT, Operations, Security, Regulatory, and Corporate Strategy, as well as external vendors to align network capabilities with overarching business objectives.

- Resilience & Future-Proofing: Ensure network infrastructure designs prioritize flexibility, scalability, robust security, and rapid adaptability to future technological shifts.

Critical Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field (equivalent practical work experience will also be considered).

- Professional Experience: 8+ years of engineering experience in telecommunications, network strategy, architecture, or deep systems engineering.

- Technical Depth: Deep technical expertise in 5G wireless core functions, 6G architecture, satellite/non-terrestrial network (NTN) integration, network access, authentication, and policy frameworks.

- Financial Acumen: Proven capability building financial business models, cost-benefit analyses, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluations.

- Industry Relations: Strong working knowledge of standard bodies and wireless industry groups (3GPP, GSMA, ATIS, ETSI).

- Leadership & Influence: Strong leadership presence with a proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving consensus across multi-functional engineering and business teams.

- Communication Excellence: Ability to translate highly complex technical concepts into clear, strategic narratives for executive, technical, and business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

- Advanced Access & Services: Experience with VoLTE/VoNR, Internet-of-Things (IoT), network security, or priority/differentiated services over wireless access.

- Spectrum & RAN: Familiarity with spectrum concepts and Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture.

- Multi-Vendor Ecosystems: Practical experience in multi-vendor core hardware environments (specifically Nokia, Ericsson, and Juniper infrastructure) and a strong grasp of physical site layout and engineering principles

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
