Grants & Partnerships Manager

Voltpost is revolutionizing the electric vehicle (EV) charging experience by retrofitting lampposts, utility poles, ceilings, walls, and pedestals into the modular and upgradable Voltpost Level 2 EV charging platform, installed in a few hours on existing infrastructure and reducing the cost, timing, and footprint of a traditional charger buildout. The Voltpost mission is to decarbonize mobility by democratizing EV charging access. Voltpost is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grants & Partnerships Manager to lead the origination and pursuit of funding programs that support the company’s growth and deployment of EV charging infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of proposal writing, business development, outreach, project development, and grant strategy. The Grants & Partnerships Manager will identify funding opportunities and develop the strategic partnerships and projects needed to pursue them.

The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and project manager who can quickly understand complex technical information, develop compelling project narratives, coordinate diverse stakeholders, and manage multiple opportunities from initial research through submission and, when applicable, post-award reporting. This position is an opportunity to play a central role in enabling Voltpost to identify funding opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, conduct municipality outreach, and bring new EV charging products and projects from concept to funded deployment .

Key Responsibilities

- Assist sourcing and pursuit of federal, state, local, utility, and private funding opportunities supporting EV charging infrastructure and transportation electrification.
- Manage end-to-end RFP and grant development, from opportunity assessment and proposal strategy through writing, partner coordination, budget and timeline development, submission, and post-award reporting.
- Initiate EV charging projects in collaboration with municipal agencies, utilities, community organizations, fleet operators, and technology partners, aligning project scopes with funding requirements, budget, and deployment needs.
- Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with prospective and existing partners, leading early-stage conversations to understand their needs, goals, and priorities and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external partners throughout project development and funding processes, facilitating alignment on project scope, roles and responsibilities, timelines, and funding requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional proposal development across engineering, finance, business development, deployment, and executive leadership, managing inputs, deadlines, compliance requirements, and submission processes.
- Manage the company’s grant and RFP pipeline, tracking opportunities, active contracts, reporting requirements, and deadlines to support business development strategy.

Qualifications

Required

- 3+ years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, business development, partnerships, project management, or a related field.
- Experience in EV charging, transportation electrification, clean energy, climate technology, infrastructure, and/or a related industry.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop clear, persuasive, and well-structured proposals.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to independently manage projects while collaborating effectively across a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization.
- Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental studies, business, public policy, communication, or a related field.

Preferred

- Experience with federal, state, utility grants, rebates, incentives, RFPs, and public-sector procurement.
- Experience developing partnerships between private companies and government agencies, utilities, municipalities, or community organizations.
- Familiarity with federal and state clean transportation funding programs.
- Experience with grant management, compliance, and post-award reporting.
- Familiarity with CRM or project management platforms.
- Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental studies, business, public policy, communication, or a related field.
