About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Designer to own the day-to-day creative execution that brings our brand to life. You'll be responsible for creating clear, compelling visual experiences across marketing, recruiting, events, executive communications, and company storytelling.

Operating as a highly versatile designer, you'll transform high-level concepts into polished final deliverables, from event experiences and conference collateral to investor presentations, recruiting materials, and brand systems. You'll help define and maintain a visual identity that feels distinctly Edison.

As our design needs evolve, you'll also have opportunities to contribute to product design initiatives. Extensive product design experience is not required on day one, but curiosity and enthusiasm for growing in that direction are important given the broad scope of design at a fast-growing startup.

This role is based in San Francisco and works closely with leadership, recruiting, marketing, product, and research teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Own design execution across brand, events, recruiting, marketing, and executive communications.
- Create event collateral, conference experiences, signage, presentations, digital assets, recruiting materials, and marketing content that elevate the Edison brand.
- Maintain and evolve Edison's sophisticated, minimal visual identity, across every touchpoint.
- Develop scalable templates, systems, and assets that allow great design work to be produced consistently and efficiently.
- Use AI to move faster, not to replace judgment.
- Pick up product design work with Platform as bandwidth allows.

Required Qualifications

- Typically, 5-8 years of professional design experience with a portfolio that shows your range: brand identity, event/exhibit design, marketing collateral, and decks.
- Expert-level Figma and Adobe Creative Suite skills.
- A strong, defensible point of view on what "good" looks like, paired with tactful editing discipline.
- Ability to strip a design down to its essential elements rather than layering more on.
- Comfort working fast and independently against ambiguous, time-sensitive requests.

Preferred Qualifications

- Motion or 3D experience (After Effects, Blender, or Cinema 4D).
- Prior experience designing in-house for a fast-moving startup, where you owned output end to end.
- Curiosity about product design and/or early exposure to it.
- Genuine interest in Edison's mission and the life sciences space.

Compensation

$150K – $175K • Offers Equity
