What You'll Do
As a member of our Surgical Services team, you will help ensure safe, efficient, and successful surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment and supporting the surgical team throughout each case.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and organize operating rooms, ensuring instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and sterile
- Scrub in and assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and other supplies
- Maintain sterile technique and uphold infection prevention standards throughout surgical procedures
- Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts before and after procedures
- Handle and label surgical specimens accurately
- Assist with patient positioning and surgical site preparation
- Monitor and communicate patient status changes to the RN and surgical team as appropriate
- Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms for subsequent procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and perioperative staff to ensure seamless patient care
- Document intraoperative care and activities as required for LPN and RN roles

Qualifications
Surgical Scrub Technician
Required
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
Preferred
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Previous Operating Room experience
Scrub LPN
Required
- Current Illinois Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred
- Minimum one year of surgical experience
Scrub RN
Required
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred
- Minimum one year of Operating Room experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
Compensation
Registered Nurse (RN)
$31.25 - $46.88/hour
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
$23.00 - $34.50/hour
Surgical Scrub Technician
$25.25 - $39.38/hour

Shift Incentives
