Resource Librarian

This role will advance the firm’s digital library strategy through centralized, efficient, and consistent support across all offices. Deliver exceptional service to attorneys, business professionals, and firm leadership while building strong relationships and communicating with clarity and confidence.

Support Research Services, Knowledge & Innovation, and other strategic initiatives as needed.

What You’ll Do

Resource Management

- Manage acquisition, cataloging, and processing of print and digital resources, optimizing workflows and the integrated library system.
- Support digital resource strategy, space planning, and the adoption of generative AI tools in alignment with firm policies.
- Monitor user feedback and continuously improve digital resources, workflows, and services.

Training & Outreach

- Deliver engaging training and outreach to attorneys, business professionals, and staff on digital resources, research tools, and AI.
- Leverage emerging technologies to enhance learning, engagement, and information delivery.

Technology & Innovation

- Explore and apply new technologies, databases, and AI tools to improve research efficiency, service delivery, and knowledge access.
- Stay ahead of evolving technology and digital resource trends.

Research & Analysis

- Conduct entry-level legal and business research using digital resources and AI.
- Deliver clear, concise, well-organized research findings through polished memos, reports, presentations, and other targeted formats.
- Contribute expertise to the evaluation, selection, and implementation of online research services.

Collaboration & Growth

- Bring curiosity, initiative, and a continuous-improvement mindset to every challenge.
- Build strong partnerships with attorneys, business professionals, and library colleagues to advance firm objectives.
- Support departmental projects, professional development, and service initiatives with accountability and a commitment to excellence.

What You’ll Bring

·       Strong written and verbal communicator who builds effective relationships across teams and functions.

·       Well-versed in legal and business information sources, including courts, government agencies, trade associations, research databases, and AI-powered tools.

·       Familiar with generative AI concepts and practical applications, including chatbots and content-generation models.

·       Skilled in computer-assisted legal research, document retrieval, acquisitions, interlibrary loan, and core library services.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

·       Master’s degree in Library or Information Science from an American Library Association-accredited program, including coursework or significant experience with legal bibliography.

·       Interest in technology and a willingness to learn new tools, including generative AI applications.

Preferred Qualifications

- A minimum of one year of professional library work experience.

This position may be filled in the following location. The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role, though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.

Washington state compensation range: $75,390 to $112,020 annually
