About this role
Complete assigned responsibilities as a process technician on the manufacturing floor. This applies to all new tool follow-up/ process monitoring for production tooling and cell lay-out functions on the manufacturing floor as per plant’s T.S.16949 and ISO14001-E.M.S. systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Process mold presses to ensure cycle time standard, quality standard and job packet specs are correct.
2. Assist with mold changes, color changes and material changes when needed and directed by supervisor.
3. Cleanliness / appearance of plant “5S”.
4. Perform basic maintenance functions as needed.
5. Train operators and mold setters on startup and shutdown of press when applicable, also cleaning of molds.
6. Develop and instill a teamwork attitude and culture.
7. Follow the direction of supervision and/or plant management.
8. Verify operation of secondary equipment.
9. Verify scrap pieces, validate and report.
10. Perform process verification documentation once per shift and/or during process change.
11. Maintain a workable knowledge of and the ability to operate all the controls of a mold press, auxiliary equipment and robots safely and correctly.
12. Understand mold press technical terms and abbreviations.
13. Verify set up sheets, route sheets and quality control documents.
14. Verify mold temperature, injection time, pressure, melt and dryer settings for repeatability/scrap reduction.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum 5 years experience in injection molding industry, with at least 2 1/2 years of experience operating a mold press and 2 years of mold set up experience.
Skills -Must have excellent reading and comprehension skills, excellent math skills in the areas of Applied Math. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to deal with time demands. Must have knowledge of Metrology, blue print reading, quality control concepts/techniques, process controls, and advanced knowledge of mold shop materials. Must have excellent statistical process control skills. Must be skilled in manufacturing plastic products, fluid power systems, and metallurgy.
