You as a Yard Foreman will:

- Oversee daily yard operations, including workflow, priorities, staffing coverage and available resources.
- Supervise, train and direct yard employees; assign work, monitor completion and escalate formal employee matters to the Operations Manager.
- Coordinate receiving, staging, loading, unloading, deliveries, returns & equipment preparation.
- Confirm orders are accurate; verify quantities and ensure equipment and materials are available and ready on schedule.
- Maintain full awareness of all materials and equipment received into and leaving the yard; keep accurate records and promptly report movements, returns and discrepancies to the office.
- Monitor inventory and storage areas; identify shortages, damaged, missing or obsolete items and recommend replenishment, transfer, repair or disposal.
- Coordinate inventory counts and ensures equipment and materials are correctly identified, labelled, stored and recorded.
- Coordinate the inspection, cleaning and readiness of returned equipment and assist with minor service as required.
- Maintain yard security, facility condition, housekeeping and waste disposal, and report losses, repairs or capital needs.
- Ensure safe storage & handling of equipment & materials; enforce safety policies, PPE requirements & inspections.
- Operate forklifts, telehandlers and other material-handling equipment as trained and certified.
- Monitor yard supplies & operating needs, support cost control & obtain approval for purchases outside delegated authority.
- Provide regular updates to the Operations Manager and office regarding staffing, scheduling, safety, inventory, equipment, facility and service issues.
- Support Operations, Inventory, Service & Purchasing teams & recommend improvements to yard organization & workflow.

This is the right role for you if:

- Experience in a construction yard, warehouse, equipment rental, scaffolding, logistics or related environment is preferred.
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience is required.
- Knowledge of yard operations, receiving, inventory control, material handling, equipment readiness & safe loading practices.
- Ability to independently coordinate yard operations, staffing, security, facilities, inventory and office communication.
- Strong leadership, organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools or servicing construction equipment are assets.
- Ability to read and follow pick lists, work orders and job documentation accurately.
- Forklift and telehandler certification, or the ability to renew certification.
- Valid driver’s license, clean drivers abstract and basic computer skills.
- Availability of working overtime, including early mornings or evenings, when required.
- The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $95,000.
