Production Supervisor

Job Summary : Supervise the day to day production activities and communicate production priorities to operators and technicians. Ensure personnel are punctual and maintain attendance & timekeeping records. Make weekly payroll entries (UKG timekeeping system). Enforce company policies and fairly apply existing labor contract to all matters of discipline or attendance. Ensure personnel maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment. Communicate equipment, safety, process related issues to the appropriate staff as required. Review thermal processing equipment to ensure critical process parameters are met. Read, comprehend all relevant work instructions to ensure personnel are accomplishing production processes to established standards. Perform Skills audits to make sure training is accurate and successful. Perform 6S, process, training audits as required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

This is a full-time position that alternates weekly between 3x12 (Friday - Sunday, 6 am - 6 pm) and 4x12 (Thursday - Sunday, 6 am - 6 pm) schedules. Initial training (first 1-3 months) takes place on 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pm)

- Supervise and measure day-to-day production activities with focus on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
- Communicate production priorities to operators and technicians.
- Ensure personnel are punctual and maintain attendance & timekeeping records.
- Make weekly payroll entries (Kronos timekeeping system).
- Enforce company policies and fairly apply existing labor contracts to all matters of discipline or attendance.
- Ensure personnel maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
- Communicate equipment, safety, process related issues to the appropriate staff as required.
- Review thermal processing equipment to ensure critical process parameters are met.
- Read, comprehend all relevant work instructions to ensure personnel are accomplishing production processes to established standards.
- Perform Skills Audits to make sure training is accurate and successful.
- Perform 6S, process, training audits as required.
- Responsible for production staff and workflow.
- Lead and manage 12-20 hourly employees in multiple departments

Education & Experience

Associates Degree in technical field, B.A./B.S. preferred. Relevant experience can be considered as substitute for degree. Minimum 5 yr. experience supervising employees. Experience with Lean Manufacturing.

Working Conditions

- Ability to stand and walk the production floor for ~11 hours per day.
- Rotating schedule of Friday-Sunday 6:00 AM-6:00 PM and working every other Thursday

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk the production floor for ~11 hours per day. Drive fork truck and lift up to 50lbs occasionally.

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
