Job Description

We’re looking for friendly, compassionate team players to join our culinary team!

As part of the dietary team, assist patients with menu selection and deliver their meals in a timely fashion. Provide excellent customer service to ensure every patient is satisfied with their meal.

Position Summary

We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-oriented Dining Server to join our senior living community. The Dining Server plays an important role in creating a welcoming dining experience for our residents by providing attentive, respectful, and professional table service.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults, has a positive attitude, and takes pride in providing excellent hospitality.

Responsibilities

- Greet residents warmly and provide friendly, courteous table service.
- Take residents' meal and beverage orders accurately.
- Serve meals and beverages promptly and according to residents' preferences.
- Assist residents with menu selections and answer questions about daily offerings.
- Set and clear tables, keeping the dining room clean, organized, and inviting.
- Reset tables and prepare the dining room for upcoming meals.
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Communicate residents' requests, concerns, and dietary needs to the appropriate kitchen or dining staff.
- Maintain awareness of special diets and food allergies according to facility procedures.
- Provide respectful and attentive service while maintaining residents' dignity and independence.
- Assist with light cleaning and other dining room duties as needed.
- Work cooperatively with kitchen, dietary, housekeeping, and care staff.
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and applicable health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

- Previous restaurant, hospitality, healthcare, or senior living experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Friendly, patient, and respectful demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry trays and other items as required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be comfortable working with older adults and providing compassionate service.

Qualifications

- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must practice good personal hygiene and be neatly groomed in a uniform
- Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment
- Preferred: Culinary experience (cook, commercial kitchen, fast food, hotel operations, healthcare)

Physical Requirements

- Prolonged standing and walking continuously, frequent stooping, and bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
