About the Role
The Member Relationship Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening GACC South’s network across Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida by cultivating relationships, driving membership growth, and ensuring a high-quality member experience.
This position focuses on membership acquisition, engagement, and retention, serving as the primary liaison between GACC South and its members, connecting companies, identifying business opportunities, and expanding our vibrant German American business community.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Development & Engagement
- Develop and implement strategies for membership growth, engagement, and retention.
- Conduct regular company visits (group visits by region to maximize efficiency, approx. two days per week) with existing and prospective members to present benefits, identify opportunities, and strengthen relationships.
- Provide excellent customer service and act as an advocate for member needs within the Chamber.
- Support onboarding with tailored membership packages and ensure a smooth integration into GACC South’s network.
- Promote networking between members and connect them with relevant services, partners, and resources.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date member and prospect data in Dynamics and GlueUp.
- Track and analyze engagement metrics and share insights through monthly reports and dashboards.
- Conduct annual or project-based member surveys (in person or online) to align services with member needs and departmental goals.
Events & Community Involvement
- Plan and execute member-focused events (e.g., quarterly Member Meetings, AGM, Member Appreciation events) in collaboration with the membership and events team.
- Support major Chamber signature events to foster engagement and visibility.
- Capture and share visits or event highlights on LinkedIn (e.g., short recaps and photos).
- Identify opportunities for event partnerships and content topics, sponsorships, speaking roles, or hosting at member companies.
Communication & Relationship Building
- Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries, feedback, and support.
- Gather and share insights to help improve our services and member experience, and identify industry challenges and pain points to inform the team
- Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance membership visibility and communication.
- Actively cross-promote GACC South services such as sponsorships, consulting, and workforce development, and connect the department development teams with relevant member companies
- Build and maintain relationships with regional partners and organizations, identifying multipliers and collaboration opportunities.
Administration & Reporting
- Prepare monthly membership and engagement reports for management.
- Keep CRM records updated with visit notes, communications, and metrics.
- Assist in developing and optimizing outreach strategies and retention materials.
- Maintain and improve internal SOPs for CRM use and KPI tracking.
- Support onboarding and training sessions for new members, staff, or interns.
- Contribute to the overall marketing and membership strategy of GACC South.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of professional experience in membership management, customer relations, or business development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
- Strong interpersonal and networking abilities with a proactive, customer-focused approach.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Comfortable traveling within the region (up to 30–40%) and occasionally working evenings or weekends for events.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset, self-motivation, and a positive attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for company visits.
Preferred
- Experience in a membership-based or nonprofit organization.
- Familiarity with the German-American business community.
- Experience in event planning and client relationship management.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret engagement and performance metrics.
Work Environment
- Tuesdays: In-office for collaboration and team updates.
- 2 Days/Week: On the road for member and prospect visits.
- 1–2 Days/Week: Remote for scheduling, virtual meetings, and outreach.
- Attend events as needed to support the team and connect with members
