Co-Op, Software Development Engineer - Observability Team

You will receive the same orientation training as our full-time engineers, you will be matched with an individual mentor, and you will be committing production code by the end of your first week. In the course of your internship or Co-op, you will be tasked with one or more mission-critical projects and make meaningful contributions to LiveRamp's success. Also, if our previous interns are any guides, you will have a ton of fun in the process!

Internships are 12 weeks long. Should we want to extend you a full-time offer after you graduate, we ask that you would be willing to consider this at the end of your internship.

Co-ops range between 12-24 weeks long. Should we want to extend you a full-time offer after you graduate, we ask that you would be willing to consider this at the end of your Co-op.

LiveRamp is looking for a Co-Op, Software Development Engineer for the Observability team. The candidate's primary focus will be to integrate closely with the development team and address their monitoring needs along with AI native initiatives.  The primary goal is to support LiveRamp’s product reliability in Production.

You will:
●Design and develop monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions to improve product observability.
● Partner with development and SRE teams to understand monitoring needs and define observability requirements.
● Develop dashboards and actionable alerts to provide visibility into system health, performance, and reliability.
● Design and implement product-level performance and reliability monitoring.
● Build and enhance automation to accelerate troubleshooting, validation, and release processes.
● Explore and contribute to AI-native observability initiatives, including leveraging AI to improve anomaly detection, troubleshooting, and operational insights.
● Partner with engineering teams to identify gaps in observability and drive improvements.
● Prepare and share observability best practices and product knowledge with SRE, Technical Support, and development teams.
● Contribute to improving the overall reliability and operational readiness of LiveRamp’s products.

About you:
● Hands-on experience with software development, automation, or observability-related projects.
● Experience with monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, or performance testing concepts.
● Experience with Python and/or Java.
● Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or similar tools.
● Experience working with cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or similar.
● Familiarity with REST APIs, distributed systems, and microservices is a plus.
● Interest in AI/ML and applying AI to software engineering, monitoring, and troubleshooting is a plus.
● Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
● Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with an interest in improving system reliability and developer experience.

The approximate annual hourly compensation range is $31-49/hr. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geography, as well as internal equity among our team.
