The International Operations Analyst 2 is responsible for reviewing, processing, and servicing complex international trade finance transactions in a highly regulated banking environment. This role will primarily support the processing and administration of Standby Letters of Credit, including issuance, amendments, drawings, renewals, and customer servicing activities. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to interpret financial, legal, and operational documentation.
The analyst partners with internal business partners, customers, relationship managers, and risk stakeholders to ensure transactions are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with bank procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. While specializing in Standby Letter of Credit operations, this role also provides the opportunity to gain exposure to and develop expertise in other international trade finance products, including documentary letters of credit, collections, SWIFT messaging, supply chain finance, and global banking practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process and support Standby Letter of Credit transactions, including issuance, amendments, extensions, renewals, drawings, and cancellation activities.
- Review standby letter of credit applications, supporting documentation, and transaction instructions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Credit, Commercial Banking, Legal, and Risk teams to facilitate the execution and ongoing servicing of standby letter of credit transactions.
- Monitor transactions for key dates, expiration events, automatic renewal provisions, drawing activity, and other critical obligations.
- Review complex financial, legal, and operational documentation to ensure compliance with bank procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Identify discrepancies, exceptions, and potential risks and work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Provide guidance and support to customers, business partners, and colleagues regarding standby letters of credit and related trade finance products.
- Develop working knowledge of additional International Banking products, including documentary letters of credit, collections, and other trade finance services.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to broaden product knowledge and support team flexibility across multiple trade finance functions.
- Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives supporting business growth and operational transformation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 3 or more years' experience within loan operations with due diligence (reviewing credit approval and applications for compliance), document preparation and/or examination experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience processing, servicing, or supporting Standby Letters of Credit, Documentary Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, or Collections.
- Experience reviewing and processing commercial loan closing packages, credit documentation, collateral documentation, legal agreements, or other financial transaction documents.
- Knowledge of Standby Letter of Credit workflows, including issuance, amendments, renewals, drawings, and claim handling.
- Knowledge of SWIFT messaging and international banking operations.
- Working knowledge of International Standby Practices (ISP98), Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600), and International Standard Banking Practices (ISBP).
- Experience supporting commercial banking clients and internal business partners.
- Interest in expanding knowledge of international trade finance products and developing broader expertise across Letters of Credit, Collections, Supply Chain Finance, and related banking services.
- Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) designation preferred but not required
