Position Purpose
The Fuel Station Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fuel center, ensuring a safe, clean, and customer-focused environment while meeting sales, profitability, and compliance goals. This position provides leadership for fuel station associates, maintains regulatory compliance, manages inventory and cash handling procedures, and delivers exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities Department Operations
- Supervise daily fuel station operations to ensure efficient and effective performance.
- Ensure fuel pumps, payment systems, and fuel dispensing equipment are functioning properly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional fuel station environment.
- Monitor fuel levels and coordinate deliveries as directed.
- Execute merchandising, promotional, and marketing programs.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop fuel station associates.
- Train associates on company policies, customer service standards, cash handling procedures, and safety requirements.
- Assign daily responsibilities and ensure work is completed according to company standards.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer service excellence.
- Provide performance feedback and operational guidance to associates.
Customer Service
- Deliver outstanding customer service and foster positive customer relationships.
- Assist customers with questions, concerns, and fuel station transactions.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
- Promote loyalty programs and company promotions.
Inventory & Merchandising
- Monitor inventory levels of convenience merchandise, beverages, and other fuel station products.
- Ensure shelves, displays, coolers, and promotional areas remain stocked and properly merchandised.
- Verify pricing accuracy and promotional signage.
- Assist with receiving and inventory control processes.
Cash Handling & Financial Accountability
- Ensure proper cash handling, reconciliation, and deposit procedures are followed.
- Monitor and investigate cash shortages, overages, and transaction discrepancies.
- Support achievement of sales, labor, and profitability goals.
- Assist with reporting and operational recordkeeping.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations related to fuel operations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and verify emergency equipment is operational.
- Ensure compliance with fuel handling, environmental, and hazardous materials standards.
- Enforce age-restricted sales requirements and company policies where applicable.
- Promote workplace safety and accident prevention practices.
