Director, Business Development

The Director of Business Development drives growth for Forza’s custom and specialty sensor portfolio. Responsibilities include identifying new markets and opportunities, expanding strategic accounts, shepherding long ‑ cycle custom sensor programs, and representing Forza to engineering and executive ‑ level customers.

The Director, Business Development, will have four primary goals:

- New Business Growth: Refine and execute growth strategies to establish and grow Forza’s standard product business.

- Channel Development: Develop the necessary channels to market and support the new standard product business growth.

- Future Innovation: Leverage customer and market insights to create business cases for new product development.

- Generating New Business: Identify new leads, connect with potential customers, and drive new qualified leads into Forza’s existing custom & semi-custom design services.

Position Responsibilities:

- Identify and build relationships with potential customers in Forza’s target markets.

- Educate potential customers about Forza’s technical and business capabilities and earn their trust and confidence.

- Build a strong pipeline of opportunities for both custom and standard image sensors in space, aerospace, defense, industrial, medical, scientific, and media markets.

- Prepare the financial piece of proposals for custom image sensor projects (ROMs), balancing Forza’s financial goals with customer and market expectations to maximize the number and quality of deals closed.

- Manage and expand strategic account relationships (existing customers).

- Provide accurate long-term (9 – 18 months out) customer and market forecasting.

- Coordinate with cross-functional internal resources to achieve goals necessary for customer satisfaction and Forza business objectives.

- Build scalable processes, tools, metrics, and AI-enabled workflows for opportunity management, customer engagement, knowledge capture, decision-making, and cross-functional execution.

- Work effectively across customers, engineering, applications, sales, marketing, legal, finance, contracts, operations, foundries, and vendors to achieve customer and Forza goals.

- Leverage customer, market, and competitive insights to create business cases and roadmaps for new technologies and standard off-the-shelf products, including customer-funded and consortium-funded development models.

- Develop and execute strategic growth plans for attractive and underserved markets, geographies, customers, and application areas.

- Develop business cases for new products and technologies, including market need, competitive differentiation, development approach, investment, revenue potential, profitability, and risk.

- Manage other business development team members as needed in the future.

- Increase Forza Silicon’s visibility through conferences, trade shows, technical papers, presentations, webinars, customer workshops, industry forums, and through thought leadership content on social media platforms.

- Provide input to marketing team members to help them effectively communicate Forza’s value proposition to target audiences.

Required Qualifications:

- Technical degree and 3+ years BD or technical sales in semiconductors, imaging, photonics, or related fields.

- Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and ability to operate effectively in an environment requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

- Technical knowledge about semiconductor design and manufacturing (ideally specific to image sensors).

- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑development skills including demonstrated ability to develop long-term, trust-based relationships with customers.

- Ability to travel 30%-50%.
