Event Set Up - River's Edge at the Arlington

Help prepare the spaces where guests gather and celebrate. At The Arlington Hotel and River’s Edge in Paris, Ontario, you’ll work with the events team to turn floor plans and décor details into rooms that are ready to welcome our guests.

The Arlington Hotel is part of Carmens Group, a Hamilton-born hospitality company with more than 40 years of experience creating memorable guest experiences.

Position Details:

What You Will Be Doing:
 
- Set tables, chairs, and other furniture according to event floor plans and contracts
- Prepare head tables, presentation areas, and guest tables with linens, décor, dishware, glassware, and centrepieces
- Ensure that table settings and décor are clean, polished, and arranged to Carmens Group standards
- Learn the décor available for different events and follow each event’s set-up instructions
- Complete room changes and take down event spaces safely and efficiently
- Keep décor and storage areas clean, organized, and ready for the next event
- Review finished spaces with your Manager and address any details that need attention
- Lift and move furniture and equipment safely, and assist with other event tasks as needed

Job Requirements:
 
- Experience in events, catering, or a similar role is an asset
- Strong organization skills and the ability to complete set-ups on schedule
- Attention to detail and pride in creating inviting spaces for guests
- A reliable, positive approach and a willingness to help your team
- The ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs, and walking throughout your shift
- Flexible availability to work daytime shifts and on weekends is required
