Field Sales Representative

Position Summary
The Field Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales performance and achieving business objectives within an assigned territory by effectively promoting and educating healthcare professionals on approved products. This role requires the ability to build trusted relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, and other key customer accounts through compliant, customer-focused interactions.
The representative utilizes strategic territory planning, clinical knowledge, and consultative selling skills to deliver impactful product presentations, identify customer needs, and implement targeted business plans that contribute to market share growth. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, sound business acumen, effective communication skills, and a commitment to compliance with all company policies and industry regulations.
This position requires up to 50% travel, including occasional overnight travel and periodic weekend participation in patient support programs or company-sponsored events.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000 . Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and overall qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Management and Sales Execution (60%)
- Achieve and exceed sales goals and key performance metrics within the assigned territory through effective business planning and execution.
- Develop and maintain strategic territory plans that maximize customer engagement and business opportunities.
- Deliver balanced, accurate, and compliant product presentations using approved promotional materials.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with healthcare providers and key stakeholders.
- Execute targeted call plans and maintain appropriate call frequency based on customer segmentation and business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to expand product utilization while addressing customer needs and clinical considerations.
- Manage and document product sample distribution in compliance with Company policy and Prescription Drug Marketing Act (PDMA) requirements.
- Maintain accurate customer records, territory information, and sales activity documentation.
- Utilize all approved sales and marketing resources to communicate product value and support customer decision-making.
Product Expertise and Customer Engagement (20%)
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas, disease states, and product indications.
- Apply the Company's sales methodology, including DiSC communication principles, to effectively engage diverse customer personalities and practice settings.
- Conduct pre-call planning and post-call analysis to optimize customer interactions and improve outcomes.
- Analyze territory performance data, account insights, and sales reports to identify trends and opportunities.
- Leverage approved business development resources and promotional budgets to maximize territory performance.
Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities (20%)
- Complete expense reports, call reporting, and other administrative requirements accurately and on time.
- Document customer interactions and sales activities promptly within the Veeva CRM system.
- Monitor and respond to company communications and email correspondence daily.
- Ensure proper care, maintenance, and security of company-issued equipment, including laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and fleet vehicles.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Adhere to all corporate compliance policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Participate in sales meetings, training programs, conference calls, and professional development activities.
- Support patient-focused programs and initiatives as needed.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related required.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.
Experience
Required
- Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences sales experience.
Preferred
- Pharmaceutical sales experience.
- Specialty pharmacy experience.
- Experience supporting limited distribution products.
- Experience calling on specialty physicians and healthcare providers.

This is primarily a -based position requiring regular travel to healthcare offices, clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, and other customer locations. Work is performed in professional healthcare and office environments with minimal exposure to hazardous conditions.
Travel Requirements
- Regional travel: 25% to 50%
- Overnight travel may be required.
