Job Summary
Candescent is currently searching for a highly motivated and experienced Benefits Analyst to administer, analyze, and support the continuous improvement of our employee benefit programs. This role supports health and welfare, retirement, leave, wellness, and international benefit offerings, partnering with global HR, brokers, Finance, Payroll, HRIS, and in-country vendors to help maintain competitive, compliant, and cost-effective programs across our regions of operation.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, service-focused benefits professional who can translate complex benefit concepts clearly, manage multiple priorities, and use data to support sound program and renewal decisions in a fast-paced, global environment.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Domestic Benefits Administration
• Administer group health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefit programs.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for employee benefit inquiries and claims issues.
• Support annual open enrollment, including system configuration, communications, vendor file testing, and enrollment data audits
• Support compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and applicable state and local requirements.
• Administer leave of absence programs, track eligibility and return-to-work status, and coordinate case management with employees, managers, and third-party administrators.
• Partner with Payroll and HRIS to maintain accurate leave coding, benefits continuation, and premium billing for employees on unpaid leave.
• Maintain required documentation and support regulatory filings, audits, and reporting, including Form 5500, summary plan documents, and ACA reporting.
• Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and resolve billing discrepancies with carriers.
International Benefits
• Support international benefit programs in partnership with global brokers, PEOs/EORs, and in-country providers.
• Assist with market benchmarking, plan renewals, employee communications, and plan documentation for non-U.S. benefit programs.
• Support expatriate and mobile employee benefit arrangements under guidance.
• Escalate local labor law changes affecting benefits to senior team members and regional HR.
Analysis, Reporting, and Vendor Partnership
• Analyze plan utilization, cost trends, and claims experience to support renewal recommendations.
• Maintain dashboards and reports on benefit costs, participation, and return on investment for leadership review.
• Support market benchmarking, cost modeling, budgeting, accruals, and forecasting in partnership with Finance.
• Support relationships with brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and international benefit vendors, including RFP processes and plan changes.
• Collaborate with Payroll, Legal, and HRIS teams to ensure accurate data flow and system integration.
Employee Communication and Education
• Develop clear, engaging communications and training materials for domestic and international employees.
• Conduct benefits orientation sessions and respond to employee questions with a service-oriented approach.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of experience in benefits administration or analysis.
• Working knowledge of U.S. benefits compliance, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and state or local paid leave requirements.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills, with experience using an HRIS platform such as Workday, ADP, SAP SuccessFactors, or a similar system.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex benefit concepts clearly to employees at all levels.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
Preferred Distinctions
• CEBS or CBP certification, completed or in progress.
• Experience with leave management systems or third-party leave administrators such as Sedgwick, Unum, or The Standard.
• Experience coordinating international benefit programs, including EOR/PEO models, expatriate benefits, or multi-country vendors.
• Exposure to global mobility, immigration, or international assignment programs.
• Familiarity with benefits practices in EMEA, APAC, or LATAM.
