Description

The Treatment Technician supports the Regional Clinic Manager and a licensed audiologist (who provides care remotely) to ensure a smooth, patient-focused clinic experience. This role combines clinical support, administrative coordination, and patient care responsibilities. You’ll help prepare exam rooms, assist with remote audiological procedures, manage Earlens device orders and fittings, and ensure the clinic operates efficiently each day.

Primary Responsibilities

Clinic Operations & Administration

• Serve as backup to open and close the clinic each day.

• Ensure audiology equipment and computers are on and ready for patient use.

• Collaborate with the Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) to manage scheduling and patient flow.

• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and support administrative processes as needed.

• Manage clinic supply inventory and prepare required reports (daily, weekly, monthly).

• Join daily huddles and participate in regular staff meetings.

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all clinic policies.

Patient Care Support

• Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake.

• Support the remote audiologist with telehealth and audiology procedures, including Cognivue screenings, video-otoscopy,

OAEs, and other functions as trained.

• Provide Earlens orientation, including device care, Bluetooth pairing, and use counseling.

• Assist patients and PCC with exchanges, returns, and follow-up questions.

• Coordinate with ENT groups for impressions and follow-ups related to Earlens devices.

• Send PCP reports daily and, when required, hand-deliver physician reports.

Earlens Device Management

• Oversee the ordering process: upload invoices and sales agreements to Counsel Ear, and ensure all documentation is complete by deadlines.

• Receive devices, prepare them for fitting, and verify functionality.

• Perform verification and validation of Earlens devices prior to patient use.

Marketing & Outreach

• Support grassroots marketing efforts, including physician and community education programs.

• Assist with outbound calls to prospective patients and the preparation of marketing materials.

Professional Development & Compliance

• Maintain all required certifications.

• Participate in continuing education and conferences as assigned (some travel required).

• Enroll in an audiology technician program (tuition covered by VHC).

Additional Information

- Full-time Treatment Technician, primarily based in Greenville

- Travel to Wilson and Kinston roughly 15–20% of the time

- 7:50 AM start time, so they can help with morning setup and get patients started on time

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certificate or similar preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in a busy medical clinic or business environment.

• Audiology clinic experience a plus, but not required.

• Competency with EMR software (such as Counsel Ear).
