Manager of Environmental Testing

EnduroSat is looking for a Manager of Environmental Testing, reporting to the VP of Manufacturing and Test, to lead the team responsible for qualifying flight hardware against the rigors of launch and the space environment. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position based in our Gardena, CA facility.

Responsibilities

- Lead the Environmental Testing team, overseeing thermal vacuum (TVAC), thermal cycling, random vibration, shock, acoustic, and humidity testing of flight hardware

- Own the environmental test campaign schedule across programs, balancing chamber/facility capacity against production milestones

- Develop and maintain test procedures, test plans, and acceptance criteria in line with program requirements and industry standards

- Collaborate with design and systems engineering teams to define environmental test requirements at the component, subsystem, and vehicle level

- Support failure analysis and root cause investigations for anomalies discovered during environmental testing

- Oversee calibration, maintenance, and qualification of environmental test equipment and facilities

- Work with quality assurance to ensure test data is traceable and compliant with program and regulatory requirements

- Partner with suppliers and external test facilities when environmental test needs exceed in-house capability

- Drive continuous improvement in test throughput, facility utilization, and data quality

- Meet production and qualification schedules while adapting to shifting program priorities

Minimum Qualifications

- Track record leading a high-performing environmental test team in aerospace or a related field

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

- 7+ years of experience in environmental testing (TVAC, vibration, shock, thermal), with 3+ years in a leadership role

- Experience working within a quality system such as AS9100 or ISO9001

- 3+ years managing, mentoring, and developing a team

Preferred Skills & Experience

- Strong understanding of spacecraft environmental qualification standards (e.g., MIL-STD-1540, GSFC-STD-7000, SMC-S-016, NASA-STD-7001)

- Hands-on experience operating TVAC chambers, shaker tables, and shock test equipment

- Experience with test automation and data acquisition systems

- Familiarity with structural and thermal analysis as it relates to test correlation

- Strong root-cause problem-solving skills

- Experience supporting cleanroom integration and test operations

- Knowledge of lean manufacturing / Six Sigma

Additional Requirements

- Willingness to work overtime or weekends to support critical mission milestones

- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
