Job Description

The Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) is seeking a Functional Family Therapy Specialist. This position will coordinate resources that help families navigate challenges and increase motivation for change. In this role you will use comprehensive data to maintain compliance with reporting requirements. If you have experience with interpreting and applying policy, we encourage you to apply.
Basic Purpose
The FFT Specialist will oversee the delivery of FFT services to youth and families referred by and through the Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA), including managing service reimbursement. This position, in coordination with FFT LLC, will track data and treatment outcomes for the FFT referred population.

Key Responsibilities
- Review records, reports, and online information systems; to determine quality and quantity of work performed; analyzes and evaluates both data collection and operations on an ongoing basis.
- Prepares written reports and recommendations regarding the general status and progress of each provider/program for which is responsible; presents findings about relevant problems or issues to the state office; as directed, conducts studies and investigations of unusual occurrences or special projects within the assigned program area.
- Advises local administrators on all phases of program staffing, organization and management; conducts local on-site staff meetings and training sessions to provide information about program policies and procedures and to communicate relevant changes; counsels local officials about needs and problems at the local level.
- Monitor FFT referrals for Oklahoma County Juvenile Bureau (OCJB), match them with FFT agencies, and assist with service initiation.
- Participate in weekly staffing to review submitted FFT referrals to ensure referrals align with set referral criteria.
- Coordinate with appropriate staff regarding the referred family’s engagement in appropriate services outside of FFT.
- Review submitted FFT service claims and reports.
- Provide support for Juvenile Services Unit workers, OKJB workers and the FFT providers, facilitating access to appropriate services, while also traveling across the state, promoting consistency, accountability and adherence to standards for referrals and service delivery.
- Assist with generating comprehensive reports as needed for associated funding sources.
- Oversee FFT providers compliance with reporting requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of agency policies and procedures; of all state and federal legislation related to assigned agency programs; of sound methods of community organization and planning; and of current social and economic problems. Ability is required to evaluate programs; to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and to interpret and apply policy material.
Compensation
Annual Salary: $63,000
*This position is funded by a time-limited grant, with continued employment dependent on the availability of grant funding.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience required at this level consists of a master’s degree and three years of professional experience in social work, child support, adult protective services, child welfare, early childhood development and education, guidance and counseling, nursing, intellectual disability, probation and parole, public administration, community-based prevention and diversionary youth services programs, juvenile justice, rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation or vocational rehabilitation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of additional qualifying experience for each year of the required education.
Special Requirements
- Must be willing to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass OSBI and FBI background check.
- A trial period of 12 months will be required.
