Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP seeks Fire Installer IV at its facility located at 10550 Commerce Parkway, Miramar, FL 33025.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Program and Test Access Control, CCTV and all Fire and Security Equipment for Miami Dade College, Hospital, Schools, etc. Serve as an enterprise level software house security technician and install complex integrated security systems to include the wiring, equipment and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems for clients. Install cable, field equipment and control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to the national electric code, company and customer guidelines. Deploy electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complicated problems during installation. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals. Read equipment and repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation. Perform system checks for proper operation. Utilize the knowledge of computer programs including word process, spreadsheets and databases, CCTV and access control systems, media storage. Plan, organize and prioritize work paying close attention to details. Communicate effectively, orally and in written, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships. Analyze information, and complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to job assignments. Deploy hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment and use feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, then position and terminate cables, wires and strapping. Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors. Conduct end-user training. Isolate trouble to a customer network, where applicable. No Telecommuting Allowed.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires three (3) years of experience as a Fire Installer, Security Installer, or related occupation installing, servicing, and troubleshooting fire alarm and security systems in commercial environments. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Programming Fire Alarm Systems; (2) Interpreting submittals and engineering documentation, including sequences of operation, riser diagrams; (3) Commissioning and system startup experience, including network configuration, functional testing, acceptance testing, and end user training; (4) IP-based and enterprise systems, including TCP/IP networking; (5) Reporting skills, including backups, test reports, and deficiency lists; (6) Working with addressable and conventional fire alarm systems; (7) Independently completing standard installations with limited supervision; and (8) Device mounting, wiring terminations, and circuit verification.
