We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer 2 to elevate quality across our core web experience. As the Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer on our Core Web Product Team, you will work closely with Engineering, Product, and Design to ensure product reliability, strengthen customer workflows, and enable confident software delivery. Your strengths in risk-based test strategy, Playwright/TypeScript automation, and AI-accelerated test design will drive your success.

You will report to the Lead QA Engineer and will be a 2 day per week hybrid role located in the Austin Texas office. This position will require 1–2 trips per quarter to customer sites.

What You’ll Do

- Engage throughout the software development lifecycle to identify risks early, define test coverage, and provide clear release-readiness recommendations.
- Partner directly with customers during field and site visits to validate real-world workflows and bring user context into exploratory testing decisions.
- Plan and execute functional, exploratory, regression, and release testing while maintaining accurate test management records.
- Create and maintain web, API, and end-to-end automation using TypeScript and Playwright to improve release confidence and accelerate feedback.
- Investigate failures independently, reproduce defects, analyze root causes, and author clear bug reports to speed up resolution.
- Collaborate across functions to surface risks, address recurring quality gaps, and optimize team-wide testing workflows.
- Integrate AI tooling into daily QA workflows to accelerate test design, regression maintenance, bug prioritization, and metrics analysis.

What You Bring

- Demonstrated experience in QA or Quality Engineering with a focus on web-based products and complex workflows.
- Hands-on automation experience using TypeScript, Playwright, or comparable web/API automation frameworks.
- Proven capability in designing risk-based, customer-centered testing strategies and conducting independent failure investigations (using browser tools, logs, and APIs).
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting automated tests in CI/CD pipelines, including test selection, environment setup, and reporting.
- Practical experience using AI tools to assist in test design, automation creation, or defect analysis.
- Strong communication skills for documenting defects, detailing test coverage, and conveying release risks clearly.
- Familiarity with geospatial, mapping, 3D, or media-rich data products, or testing under load/performance constraints is a plus.

Base Pay Range:
89,120.00 - 122,540.00 USD Annual
