The Opportunity:

As a MUMPS developer, you know how to create, enhance, and sustain the applications that support critical healthcare, logistics, financial, and procurement operations. You use your knowledge of VistA, MUMPS, FileMan, and VA systems to solve complex technical problems and keep mission-essential capabilities reliable.

As a senior MUMPS developer at Booz Allen, you’ll support the modernization and sustainment of Department of Veterans Affairs systems, with a focus on IFCAP and related VistA packages. You’ll design and maintain MUMPS applications and integrations, debug and optimize legacy code, analyze workflows and system dependencies, and help deliver solutions through disciplined testing, release management, and production support. You’ll collaborate with VA stakeholders, business analysts, product owners, developers, and other technical teams to translate requirements into practical, secure, and supportable capabilities.

You Have:

- 10+ years of experience developing, debugging, integrating, and supporting VistA MUMPS applications
- Experience developing, integrating, or troubleshooting IFCAP and Generic Inventory Package (GIP) workflows, custom tools, or reporting capabilities
- Experience working with VistA environments, FileMan, VA Kernel, and VistA infrastructure components
- Experience with VistA package deployment, national patching, release management, sustainment, and production support processes
- Experience with requirements analysis, technical integration planning, system architecture principles, and documenting functional and technical solutions
- Experience working in Agile Scrum environments and using tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, GitHub, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

- Experience supporting VA supply chain modernization efforts or legacy-to-modern system transitions
- Experience with cloud migration strategies or API-based modernization of legacy VistA systems
- Knowledge of healthcare logistics, inventory management, federal financial management, supply chain, procurement, and related VA workflows
- Public Trust
- Possession of strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Vetting:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
