Job Responsibilities:

JOB PROFILE

To safely operate forklifts for production lines and/or in shipping & receiving department as needed to move raw material, WIP (Work In Process), finished goods, scrap hoppers, purchased components, and packaging material to designated staging areas

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility for proper handling, storage, packing, preservation and delivery of both material and product per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001documented systems and authority to initiate appropriate action necessary to prevent non-conformance to customer specifications

- Perform required safety inspections on forklift equipment and document accordingly
- Move materials to/from production lines as well as provide packaging materials
- Keep production operating at maximum efficiency by eliminating forklift downtime
- Issue components and packaging to production as needed
- Housekeeping and other activities as assigned

SH&E

·        Support and enforce compliance to TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.

·        Provide a safe and healthful work environment that is free of all recognized hazards for employees, contractors, and visitors.

·        Advise employees, contractors and visitors of any actual or potential danger to their safety or health and ensure the necessary training and/or personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.

·        Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.

·        Know, follow and enforce all applicable SH&E Rules, Policies, and Procedures.

·        Help manage Safety Performance Measurables such as incident rate, monthly inspection results and EOS scores. Overall performance to the measurable elements of our SH&E system are part of annual performance review.

EDUCATION

- High school diploma or equivalent

TECHNICAL EDUCATION

- Safe forklift operation and/or crane operation/chain sling as required
- CMS Label Management Certification

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

QUALIFICATIONS

- Forklift license and/or prior forklift experience
- 1 year experience driving forklift
- Safe forklift driving record
- Warehousing, shipping/receiving experience preferred
- Excellent attendance

SKILLS

- Ability to safely operate forklift and other material-handling devices
- Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
- Ability to visually inspect inbound/outbound freight and containers
- Basic computer skills helpful
- Ability to perform job safely yet quickly
- Basic understanding of inventory flow and stock rotation

EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS

- Forklift, straight truck, pallet jack, and shrink wrap machine
- Common office equipment (i.e. PC, copier, facsimile)
- Barcode printer and scanner

WORKING CONDITIONS:

·         Ability to move throughout the plant

·         Extended sitting and standing; reaching and bending

·         Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. may be required

·         Loud work environment; compliance with personal protective equipment as required
