A General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of repair and preventative maintenance tasks in multiple trade areas including plumbing, basic electricity, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and basic mechanical repair. Customer Service/Breakdown/Setup of facility meeting rooms; Grounds repair and upkeep is also an expectation.
Education
Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 5 - 7 years of job related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Building Maintenance Experience
Other experience requirements: general mechanic or general building repair
Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ab ility to use hand tools, power tools and other specialized instruments
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, plans, directions, drawings, basic line drawings, simple schematics, work orders, purchase requisitions, and MSDSs.
- Must be able to work independently or as part of a team, be friendly and courteous to patients, visitors, and staff, be neat in appearance and demonstrate good personal hygiene.
- Good organizational and problem solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks are essential to job performance
